Battery life?

I'm considering buying an e-golf. What is your experience with the battery life? Lost of range over time etc?

Does the cost of new batteries or questionable resale value make a lease a better deal. I usually keep my cars for at least 10 years.

Estimating Battery Degradation

TLDR version: multiple folks here are reporting a capacity loss of 5% per year. Volkswagen guarantees 70% battery charge for 8 years or 100,000 miles, so...things might get interesting in years 6 and 7 of ownership.

I have about 15000 miles on my 2015 e-Golf and I have seen no discernible degradation. Since I started keeping track of my car's usable battery capacity last July, I have seen it hover around 20 kWh. I drive about 8000 miles a year, usually charge using a 30 amp L2 station, and occasionally use DCFC stations. It seems to me VW did their homework and produced a solid battery pack, but only time will tell.
