Hi
I'm getting my new eGolf next week and am thinking of buying a s/h space saver wheel/tyre. The UK eGolf has 16" with 205/55 R16. All the VAG spacesavers on eBay seem to be 16" 125/70.
My understanding is that the 2nd part of the size is the aspect ratio and is the percentage size of the width. So for the eGolf 55% of the 205 width is 112.75 mm - which is the height of the tyre. If you do the same calculation with the space saver 125/70 you get a height of 87.5mm.
This means the overall diameter is smaller so it doesn't seem it is the correct size? Am I right or wrong and if the latter what size do I need to look for please?

This thread provides some details from someone who got the complete spare tire kit put together and installed in his e-Golf.

Thanks. Unfortunately the thread doesn't give the wheel/tyre size you need to buy, so anyone who knows please let me know thanks.

The compact spare I took out of my Alltrack which is the same diameter as the tire of the eGolf is a T125/70R-18. It has the same 24.9 inch overall diameter as the eGolf's stock 205/55R-16 tire per https://tiresize.com/tyre-size-calculator/
