2016 e-Golf charger door will not unlock

Hello,
I’m a new e-Golf owner since mid January 2018. Just recently I’ve noticed that my charging door doesn’t unlock with my doors anymore but today, a new “feature” has appeared...it won’t unlock at all!

I’ve tried turning the car off and on, locking and unlocking the doors from both the handles and the fob.

Any ideas? Nearest dealership is about 25 miles and I now only have 35 miles left. I might be able to get there but...not wanting to chance it.

2016 Pure White e-Golf SE

1. Lock car
2. Make a fist
3. Firmly strike left side of flap with fist
4. Unlock car

5. Flap will likely pop open on its own as doors unlock


Went through this with mine for week or more.

And before you ask........
Easily fixed, I replaced whole car

:lol: thanks Barry! That worked. Kind of stupid. Since mine is still under warranty...I’ll be letting them know.

Really....... I get your charging door opened, and you to the dealer, and you refer to my most detailed and professional instructions as "Stupid"

Not feeling the LOVE !!!!
What would have been really stupid was only getting half way to the dealer.

OH and I still think my "fix" was the right way to go. Adaptive cruise and the digi dash is awesome.
