I am posting here because I am at my wits' end. For the past two weeks, when I get into my 2016 VW Golf, I cannot hear music or talk to anyone on the phone because a voice comes on in my car that says, "Car-net services are currently unavailable. To activate car-net, please call 877-820-9220." This occurs over and over. I will think it is done repeating itself and make a phone call, but then it starts again and interrupts my phone call.

I have called Car-net and they say they can't do anything, that I should take it to the dealer. I took it to the dealer and they treated me like I was insane (as if it doesn't really happen and that I must be pressing the car-net buttons above the windshield/on the ceiling). They said they couldn't get it to do this problem. When I picked up my car, I opened the car door and immediately, the voice started. I got one of the service people and he just immediately said, "We don't have any answers, you'll have to call Car-net."

I am beyond frustrated. Has anyone else had this problem? I have never activated Car-net, never pushed any of those buttons, and I just want to be able to listen to the radio and not be interrupted on phone calls.

Thanks for any info/advice. I plan to call Car-net again today.

If you are in the United States, call VW Customer Service and ask for an e-Golf specialist. The number is 800-822-8987. Describe your problem and which dealer blew you off. Ask them if they can suggest a more competent service department. They probably can't tell you to go to any one dealer over another, but it's worth a try. From the sounds of it, you could probably do better choosing another one at random.

Ask if they can switch the Car-Net cell phone to off or at least Airplane Mode. In either case let the forum know if you get a solution.
