I really want to get an e-golf, but I drive from Portland to Seattle about once a month. My research seems to indicate that there are very few level 3 chargers along I-5, so I'd have to count on using a J and taking hours to charge. Am I missing something? Are there really dozens of level 3 combo / CCS chargers in both Portland and Seattle, but so very precious few along I-5 between the two? Or am I just not looking in the right place?

Thank you, and sorry if the question is stupid. I have spent an hour+ looking online before asking, but on the other hand, I am actually kind of stupid (just ask my kids), so may well have missed something important.

Not a dumb question, its the longest stretch on I5 from Vancouver BC to the Bay Area without a CCS. No public access charger from Woodland to Tacoma (120 Miles). However, if you have a 2017 you can probably make it fairly easily with an hour at a L2 mid-way (personal favorite is in Grand Mound https://www.plugshare.com/location/102938) is and a L3 in Tacoma.

There are several 50 kW L3 chargers in Tacoma, but I'd go here (https://www.plugshare.com/location/44188) for a free 30 min session at a 24kW charge point charger. There are 24kW chargers at Chevy dealers in Longview (https://www.plugshare.com/location/134492) and Olympia (https://www.plugshare.com/location/140818) but according to plugshare it seems the dealer in Olympia turns thumbs to non bolt drivers.

The good news is that there are L3 chargers planned for Chehalis and Lacey. Once the Chehalis L3 is running, the PDX to SEA run will be a breeze.

Really wish Areviornment would add CCS plugs to their awesome network of Chademo chargers.

Thank you, tbier. That was a very thorough answer and extremely helpful. I really appreciate it.
