VW is going to reveal their all new ID.3 in September, and deliver them in 2020 to buyers in Europe. There are 3 battery pack capacities:

45kWh 330 km (205 miles) WLTP range
58kWh 420 km (261 miles) WLTP range
77kWh 550 km (342 miles) WLTP range

I hope that VW brings the ID.3 to the US, sooner rather than later!

Okay - this is big! The ID.3 has a Cd of 0.26! This is mentioned at about 36 minutes into this video:

It is in German, but has English subtitles.

That's exactly the car I'd love to replace my eGolf with! It's too bad that it's not coming to the US (as of now anyways...)

Fingers crossed they'll at least grace us with the Buzz - I'd take one of those!

No note on liquid battery cooling, so I assume it's air cooled only like the e-Golf?

I have read it is a liquid cooled pack. I believe if you look at the MEB mock up photographs, you can see cooling lines entering the battery pack. Also, if VW delivers 125 kW charging, I don't see how a passively cooled pack would work.

MEB is definitely liquid cooled - battery and motors.

I believe they air cooled the eGolf as a cost cutting measure, knowing that it would only be a stopgap solution. Why over-engineer it when you can sell its replacement in 5 years?

They said it was because their battery chemistry could tolerate the heat without needing liquid cooling, but I have my doubts...
