Hi guys,

I leased e-golf 20 months ago, and it has only 4 months left on the lease term.
Yesterday after charging my car, I was not able to start the car. It shows "unable to start, please remove charing plug" and the whole electrical system is down.
I towed my car to dealer, they said need to diagnose find out what's going on and is it under warranty.

Today they said the issue is one tail light lens broken which allows water to enter and leak down to BD module and connector. And it's not under warranty , I have to pay $1000 for the fix. (BTW I didn't notice any broken in the lens, I usually take care of my car. But I forgot to take pics when I left my car there)

I am like "nothing I could do to defense myself, what they say is what it is. ". Is it?

Wondering do I have any other options?

Any tips are appreciated. Thanks.

Talk to your insurance. Paying a smaller Comprehensive Deductible for the repair may be preferable. Let them fight with the dealership about causation and warranty.
