Agree. That was probably the most interesting part. Surprisingly simple.

Also, it was interesting to think of this process in the context of the more complex process of assembling an ICE car. That is, far fewer steps and far fewer parts — no transmission assembly, no exhaust assemblies, no coolant systems, no ICE! Hard to imagine that EVs won’t eventually be much cheaper to assemble than ICE vehicles once the price of the components (esp. batteries) comes down due to economies of scale.

This is an old video, but a good one. The e-Golf does have a cooling system for the drive motor, on board charger, and power electronics - of course, all parts run much cooler than an ICE, but cooling is required for longevity and reliability.

How old is this video? Nothing's changed in the manufacturing process since then though, right?
