mud flaps

Now that it's warming up the sand our town spreads on our roads for winter traction is turning into "soup" and is coating the rear of the car quickly. Has anyone installed mud flaps? I know it will likely add to the aerodynamic drag a bit but I'm willing to forgo a bit in efficiency if they work.

Don't have yet, but I've a lot of options on ebay.

I picked up F&R sets from a VW dealer through Amazon at a decent discount. I installed them a couple weeks ago when I removed the winter tires. Haven't driven with them yet as we're away for a few weeks. Some claim you don't have to remove the front tires to install, just turn the wheels but I did not find this to be the case.
