Anyone know any dealerships that might have one available to test drive?

I have a trip planned to Toronto on Dec 22nd, stopping at a dealership in Mississauga to test drive a bolt, wondering if theres an e-golf with DAP around somewhere I can take for a spin and try out some of its features...

Bramgate VW and Georgetown VW both have base egolfs for testers last time I saw - not much help

Yorkdale VW has a demo in Viper Green with leather, tech and DAP.

Thanks....

Trying to contact them, all I got was an email reply from their customer service desk asking me to come in for an appointment tonight...

"Thank you for your interest in Yorkdale Volkswagen. My name is <insert name here> and I’m a Customer Communication Specialist. My role will be to assist you in your car search and ensure that you receive an outstanding service experience.

Great News the 2017 Volkswagen E-Golf is available to order currently. When visiting our Dealership our Brand Specialist will be able to answer all your questions that you might have around this vehicle.

Therefore, I would like to verify your availability for an appointment at Yorkdale Volkswagen and meet our Sales Manager who will get you the best car at the best price. We are here to earn your business.

Would you like to come in tonight at 6:45PM?"

why can't they just answer my question? To be a communication specialist, first thing to do would be to answer my question, "Do you have an e-golf with DAP available to test drive?"... A Very simple question...

Yowser...

Finally got my answer for a test drive, but they also mentioned this...

I will not be able to get you an e-Golf earlier than March of 2019, and that date even assumes that you put in a non-refundable deposit in today.

Funny, London VW and Nissan dealerships both assured me the deposits are 100% refundable... :?

I will PM the name of the sales person I dealt with. He was the only one I could find in the GTA that had any idea about the e-golf and is quite passionate about them.

Yorkdale VW sucks... as far as eGolf is concerned. They didn't know anything at all, no demo and didn't even give me a price.

The Green "demo" wasn't actually a demo. It was a custom ordered customer car which the customer cancelled and lost his $1000 deposit. it was listed on Trader.ca for a while. It was sold sometime in November.

Yorkdale has never had a demo. They just sell off each eGolf they get as soon as they get them.

Tip: Go outside of the GTA to get better info and treatment from VW dealers. I found that GTA VW dealers don't really want to sell eGolfs and are poorly informed. They're so buys selling I.C.E. VWs they just can't be bothered with the eGolf.

I know... I called and/or visited all 15 GTA dealerships. That's ALL of them!

I really hope they didn't lie to me...

I will be going out of my way to reach that dealership for a simple test drive...

They obviously know I have no intent on buying from them...

My experience at Yorkdale was the exact opposite. The salesmen was very knowledgeable and let me drive their demo which was a black car (cloth, no options) plated with a VW EGOLF license plate. I tried very hard for them to sell me this car in the summer and wouldn't budge as they wanted to keep it as a demo. When the customer cancelled on the green car they did try and sell it briefly and then sold the black demo and replaced it with the green one - took over the VW EGOLF plate. I have a picture of that car from Dec 2nd and it wasn't sold as I was in it.

Good to know... thanks for the info...

I hope my test drive plans aren't spoiled by the weather tomorrow though... freezing rain tonight, snow tomorrow...

Could be a messy drive 350km drive into toronto on the 401...

I have a quick stop in Mississauga to test drive the bolt while I'm in the area, then meeting up with some BMW friends to sell car parts, then on my way to yorkdale to test drive the e-golf before heading downtown for a concert...

Lots of driving around planned... The weather might just make it a little more challenging... I have to say, I will miss being in a AWD Grand Cherokee once i move to my EV driving around in scenarios like this...

So test drive was pretty much uneventful...

I guess you can't really use the DAP features in city driving... mostly highway functions..

On top that, the sales rep that said he would have the car ready for me on Friday, doesn't even work fridays?!, so they had another sales guy help me out...

We had to hurry back cause he had a test drive appointment with another customer scheduled...

Kind of disappointing... but he said, the DAP features are the same on any car.. I can test drive on a regular ICE golf and get the same kind of experience...

I do like the digital cockpit with the compass bearing in the middle of the speedometer, that was a nice feature...

This is what I would like to experience, is it really just a safety feature to keep you from unintentionally switching lanes and if you let go of the wheel it "bounces" between the lane markings, or does it do a good job and smoothly tracks in your lane?
