Found my battery's aging %, seems low -- or is it?

How about these three measuring blocks?
Found them on the Gateway 19.

IDE09074-MAS08256 Vehicle properties-Max energy content 18750 Wh
ENG106155-ENG118436 EM_prcSoh-SOH_P 74 %
ENG106155-ENG118435 EM_prcSoh-SOH_Q 75 %
Interesting. Can you tell us about this vehicle? How old? How many kms?

Interesting indeed... here's mine, build date 6/15 with 20,500 miles/33.000 km:

tkg8cIU.jpg

I have been "babying the battery" charging only to 60% since I don't use the car for my commute and drive it only 13 miles most days.

Mine is an 2014 model, with 90 000 km on it. I live in Norway so it runs in cold climate.

My friend has an new FL 300 km 2018 model so I invited him over to check his car and it states only 75% SOC_Q and 75% SOC_P.
Both our cars spend the night outdoors in -10`C so that leads me to think the battery temerature is effecting this reading.

How many Watt Hours or kWh is shown when you check in Max Energy?

Actually i tried but all i got was some unreadable number. 1.3EE002 or something like that.

Well, OK, maybe a newer Rev of your App on your smart phone will turn something up later that makes sense.... that looks like hexidecimal code that hasn't been deciphered yet.

I am using VCDS 18.9.1 (newest release).
Anyhow, not sure what to make of these readings.

Will report back when the weather is warmer, right now its -10`C. And Sunday it will be close to -20`C.
Its hard to be an EV owner at this time of year ;) Less than half the range compared to summer time.

You may wish to occasionally charge to 100 and drain to very low, as batteries do like to use their full capacity sometimes to maintain their health

So is my eGolf from 2015, just crossed the 90Kkm mark. I'm interested in how I best can read the SOCP/SOCQ values from my car as well and at what value(s) one possibly could claim the battery warranty for broken, eg. is it below 70% of what 24.2KwH or 21-22KwH something...

Any hints are appreciated, TIA!

Edit: Got a VCDS cable now and am seeing various numbers for these:

ENG106155-ENG118436 EM_prcSoh-SOH_P
ENG106155-ENG118435 EM_prcSoh-SOH_Q

in the ranges 87-91% after now +93Kkm and 4 years

IDE09074-MAS01078 Max Energy in the range 18600-18700kWh

Also find interesting stuff in the 8C Battery Management Systems like how much energy in cars life time I've put into the battery/car and how much has been pulled from it:

IDE01036-MAS01375,Højspænding / Hybridbatteri: Historik data 1-Tæller til amperetimer: ladning,52893.730, Ah
IDE01036-MAS01376,Højspænding / Hybridbatteri: Historik data 1-Tæller til amperetimer: afladning,-51711.761, Ah
IDE01036-MAS01377,Højspænding / Hybridbatteri: Historik data 1-Tæller til kilowatttimer: ladning,17605.365, kWh
IDE01036-MAS01378,Højspænding / Hybridbatteri: Historik data 1-Tæller til kilowatttimer: afladning,-16977.790, kWh

divided into the driven range one can find so far the overall efficiency of the car: 93198km / 16977.790 kWh ~ 5.49 km/kWh

I have a VAGCOM HEX-CAN OBD USB cable and a Bluetooth OBD adapter.

I tried this software with the Vagcom cable but could not find the SOH parameter: https://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/
What page and advanced measuring blocks to look at?

offpist mentioned "Gateway 19"

Verkehr, what app is that?
tkg8cIU.jpg

The app is OBDeleven. I finally found my battery capacity in the Gateway 19 section as well.

2016 model, with 122.000km driven. I have charged to 100% every night before a workday and most of the year also from 40-60% to 100% at work.
I have fast charged it multiple times a month on average, and even done multiple dc fast charges in a day when on longer trips.
My "Max energy content" is 20450Wh, so thats a 6.2% reduction in battery capacity which I find more than acceptable.

@Pokerfjes

I just bought a used 2016 e-Golf and I would be tickled if I have or can get similar results.

So .... just poked around in Gateway 19

Both of my SOH_P and SOH_Q are at 88%. I’ve got a 2018 with 30 000km

My Max Energy content is at 1.1265e+006wh.....

Looking at each cells, 1 through 12 have weird variations. #3 is at 3.21V while #10 is at 3.07V. All the rest are pretty close to 3.10-3.12V. Battery was at 56% SOC

1.12E6 Wh makes no sense. Did you copy the number correctly?

Try taking the pack down to about 10 to 20 % and then fully charge to get better cell voltage agreement.

I think mine read 1.12E6 also. The ECU I think has some bogus values entered for some of the registers. Don't know if it's because the data isn't filled in but the conversion to human readable makes it gibberish, or its necessary for some other calculation. Edit: mine read 1.3953E6 Wh.

My SOP and SOH however on my 2019 with 5000 miles were 90% when I was half charged and 91% when fully charged.

2016 e-Golf - 30,100km
I drove home with a drained battery & 0km left. After a full L2 charging , 20.936 KWh was recorded.

From my calculation, I think my battery has a degradation of 2.78%

assuming 24.2 KWh * 0.89 = 21.538 KWh (usable battery when new)

then calculate actual degradation
(21,538-20,936) / 21,538 = 0.0278 = 2.78%

is my math right?

BTW, using ODBEleven my SOH shows 86%

thanks!

Looks right to me, assuming battery took up 20.936 kWh. How did you get this number? If it is from the charging station, then there are losses in the on board charger and that means the battery received less than 20.936 kWh. If this number is what the car's computer reads at 100%, then it should be correct and probably the best info you can get. I suspect you live somewhere with a temperate climate and have taken good care of the battery pack.
