In my 2019 SE (no heat pump) I lose about 10% of range on the Guess-O-Meter when the cabin heater is on.

2019 SE here. I occasionally get a clunk when in reverse, but I’ve never heard one when moving forward.

For those of us in the U.S., this is equivalent to 6.6 miles/kWh. Excellent range! I average 4.4 to 4.6 miles/kWh long term. The only way I could see getting 6.6 miles/kWh would be coasting downhill for 100 miles while coming home from Tahoe. :D

Around San Francisco the dealerships ask $275 to $450 for the e-Golf's standard 20,000-mile service. That seems like a lot for what's basically a tire rotation and visual inspection. I'm wondering if that's standard in the rest of the United States. What do they charge in your area?

I do notice a big heat difference between the two. The Delphi charger that came with my 2016 SE would get almost too hot to touch, while the one with my 2019 SE gets barely warm. I assume that's the reason VW replaced the 12A charger with a 10A charger.

Followup: my trouble with having to plug in the charger several times was in fact a lubrication issue with the locking pin, as f1geek said. I pulled out the silicon spray again and applied what I felt was a ridiculous amount of silicon to the locking pin, first with the charging handle...

I can confirm that the 2016 SE without DCFC doesn't have a locking pin, so the handle does not lock while charging. I never had a problem with sparking when removing the handle during L1 or L2 charging. I think the locking pin is just a safety feature when using DCFC. And honestly I'd like to...
