    "inspection in 30 days" warning

Thank you, JohnnyLingo and f1geek -- what you suggested worked. I had done the same process (as per the owner's manual) several times, but I guess I was not holding the 0.0 button long enough or maybe too long. Anyway, when I tried it again tonight the display gave me the option to reset the...

    "inspection in 30 days" warning

I have a 2017 e-Golf with 12100 miles. I took it in for the 10,000 mile VW dealer checkup at 10,000 miles a few months ago. Now, with a bit over 12100 miles, my instrument panel popped up with the message "inspection in 30 days." I called the dealer and they said that I could bring it in to...

    New 2018 e-golf Owner here!

Rolling down one of the front windows can help with the wind issue, I believe. Unless I am misunderstanding what you are meaning.

Anyone replaced their 12V Battery yet?

Thank you for sharing your story. Sounds like it is a good idea to just get the battery replaced around three years or 30,000 miles of use, in order to avoid issues with having the car act up when the battery goes bad.

e-Golf mechanics vs. regular VW mechanics -- does it matter?

I purchased a 2017 e-Golf in Oct. 2017. The dealer from whom I purchased the vehicle does a 3000-mile courtesy checkup. When I took my car in last December, I had a concern about a knocking sound I'd hear when braking. The service adviser said that no one could check on that issue for me on this...

    Lake arrowhead

I think what I have learned over the six months or so of driving my 2017 e-Golf is that I don't have to just use it for a daily commuter around the city. The car is such a great car to drive that I would like to enjoy it on longer trips as well. As long as I know I can get a charge somewhere at...

    driving distances w/ 2017 e-Golf

I made this original post in October last year to ask about theoretically doing a 30-mile drive up a hill with an elevation gain of about 5000 feet. Some of you said to give it a try and a few of you said that this would be too much strain on the battery. My question is: How would I even know...

    Lake arrowhead

I just made the drive up to Big Bear Lake from the Highland charging station at Walmart. Started with an 83 percent charge, made the 29 mile drive up to Big Bear and still had about 40 percent left. That was driving on Eco or Eco+, and I do have the newer (2017) e-Golf. I did read that one post...

    driving distances w/ 2017 e-Golf

Thank you for those suggestions. I did plug some numbers in the evtripplanner and it looks like a 15 kWh trip, so that seems like it's probably a go for the drive I'm thinking. I'll try it sometime, but I'll probably leave the family and dogs behind just in case we don't make it. No one would...

    driving distances w/ 2017 e-Golf

Do any of you know of websites to obtain driving distance estimates for the e-Golf? I've found a few that are good for Tesla owners, but not more general ones where one could type in distance travelled, elevation gain, temperature, etc. and get an estimate of how much of a charge you'd need to...

Talk me out of buying a new 2017 SE e-Golf

Despite the many good points re: leasing, I did end up purchasing also, just like audiphile in the previous post. With the $4000 rebate from VW for the 0% financing, the $30,000 price I paid for the SE w/ fast charge, and the $10,000 in rebates ($2500 in CA state rebate, and $7500 fed. tax...

Talk me out of buying a new 2017 SE e-Golf

If one is able to apply the $4000 credit bonus from VW financing and get perhaps $1500 off (or more) the MSRP (which seems possible, even this early into the model year), that would make a bottom-end 2017 e-Golf SE that has a sticker price of $31,500 worth buying (in my mind) if one is looking...

Talk me out of buying a new 2017 SE e-Golf

I'm 50, and I've never leased a car in my life. If I've purchased a new car, I've usually financed just a small part of it and paid off the loan more quickly than when it was fully due. So now, as I'm considering an electric vehicle for my next car, I am stuck in this quandary: Buy or lease...
