    Question for 2017-2019 Owners

I've gotten 149 mi. out of a charge with 4 mi. remaining. As a rough guess, that's with about 5% highway driving, and 10% with my wife running her seat heater.

    New 2019 e-Golf SEL Owner

Before I turned in the 2016 e-Golf, it was still estimating about 100 miles on a full charge, but I almost never went to a full charge because time-based charging meant that the last 10-15 minutes raised the cost. In hindsight, this micro-optimization saved little cash, but might have helped...

2016 e-Golf tires for sale in Portland, Oregon

Yes, the Ecopias seem to hold up well. Checking the pre-turn-in report on my 2016, I had 28,642 miles, with 7/32" tread on the front tires, 6/32" at the rear.

Charging curve on 2016 vs. 2019

Charging to the old 2016 e-Golf, I saw a characteristic curve where the car gradually accepted less power in the last 10 minutes as it approached 100% SOC. Filling up the 2019, it looks like the car doesn't ramp down, but goes straight to 0. I'm curious why I'm seeing this behavior? Below I...

    Speculation about 2019 e-Golf

This wasn't explained. The VW folks assumed the e-Golf had been fully charged when they prepped it for me, then moved it to the front. But I found it had 32 miles of range, spoke to my rep, who apologized and escorted me to the DCFC where he unplugged the Bolt and moved the charging to the...

    Speculation about 2019 e-Golf

I found a way to qualify for VW partner pricing, and sprang for a 2019 lease from Capitol VW. We found the nearby Chevy dealer had interrupted the charge on my car in order to plug a Bolt into the DCFC station, so my departure was delayed. However, I was glad to start out with a fully charged...

    Speculation about 2019 e-Golf

FWIW, the paperwork for my lease extension (6 months) sets the purchase price at $12,190. If the 2016 had battery capacity of 36 kWh instead of 24 kWh, I think I would seriously consider it.

    Speculation about 2019 e-Golf

The rush for red California HOV stickers makes me wonder if I might do better to wait until later in 2019, and sit on a lease extension in the meantime. I don't use the freeways that much...

    Speculation about 2019 e-Golf

I missed picking up a 2018 before stock ran out, but I'm talking to a couple of dealers about 2019s; one reports getting a few on their lot as of 12/18. There's a feature matrix one sent -- I don't have a place to host it, otherwise I would share it here. It looks like the 2019s are getting...

2016 e-Golf max DC Fast Charging Rate

The InsideEVs curve for the 26kWh e-Golf is consistent with the one time I used a Chargepoint DCFC with my '16. Power started around 40 kW and rose slowly to 43.8 kW, then sloped down. I unplugged when the charger reported 91% SOC -- no other charger I've used has reported this info.

    New 2018 e-golf Owner here!

To get smooth ventilation using window positioning, I lower the front and rear windows on the passenger side by about the same amount, 1 to 3 inches. The air flows in a roughly semicircular pattern and doesn't feel too drafty at the driver's seat. I don't really notice buffeting with the cabin...

car net not working for 3 days

Most likely, your Car-Net services will return to normal within a few days. Perhaps there are forum members who have suggestions whom to contact to expedite restoration of Car-Net services. Car-Net service was out of service for my car for about a day, starting Sunday evening 11/18, ending...

    Speculation about 2019 e-Golf

The lease on my 2016 e-Golf SE ends at the end of 2018, and I find that I still prefer it after taking a Bolt EV for a test drive. Tesla scares me, besides being more expensive than I'm willing to pay. Meanwhile, my rep at Capitol VW in San Jose has limited stock and selection of 2018 e-Golfs...

PG&E offering new 2017 $500 rebate for EVs and plug-ins

FYI: The info about the PG&E rebate was emailed to the ChargePoint users list at my office on 1/10, and one guy immediately applied. On 1/17, he reported his check had arrived.

    2016 e-Golfs half off!!!

Sounds like this was an SE with the downgraded charger. Close to MSRP, that might be a deal breaker, but at the sale price, I would have given it some serious consideration.
