Charging fault, charging port locked and won't let go

I've been having repeated stuck pin problems also. Seems like there are 2 causes: 1) Legit system-related locking (resolved with the charge button/keyfob unlock solution) and 2) Sticky solenoid locking pin (resolved with the angled wire/pin push back solution). I decided on a PERMANENT...

Charging fault, charging port locked and won't let go

The 90° pick solution worked great - thanks! I had all of the same symptoms listed here for my 2015: 1) You need a stiff wire, 6" long with a 90° bend and a 1" long tip - 7" of wire total. The Home Depot pics could work or you could make one out of coat hanger wire. 2) The silver metal...

    Regenerative Braking Drive Modes Gimmicky?

Keep in mind that when you're in B mode, every time you take your foot off the accelerator, the brake lights come on. For someone following you, it can look like you're a crazy double-footer (left foot on the brake, right foot on the gas)...

    Regenerative Braking Drive Modes Gimmicky?

Charger errors Clipper Creek (Delphi) level 1

I've also noticed that it doesn't take much accidentally scoupped-up snow/ice inside the handle end of the connector to prevent it from making full contact; even a couple mm thick around the base of one contact is enough to prevent it from 'connecting' and not charging. It's definitely a...

Charger errors Clipper Creek (Delphi) level 1

I'm in the Boston area as well, crazy cold at 0° at the moment. Went through the usual charging routine with the factory charger - tried everything, could NOT get the green light to come on. Brought the charger inside for 30 minutes to warm up by the wood stove and now it works fine.

Green car? Time to switch to green power, too!

Just leased a 2015 SEL in MA and switched our power provider from Nstar to Green Mountain Energy - price per kw was about the same, but it's 100% wind-generated. Don't know how many people know you can switch your power provider (at least in MA) or that there are renewable options out there to...
