is car supposed to come with charge cord?

You just bought an EV and your dealer did not even demonstrate to you the essential step of deploying its charge cord and how to charge it? I would give them a failing grade on the inevitable post-delivery survey.

CA - Rebate from DWP on installing Level 2 Charger

I have not heard of such a rebate in CA. There was a Federal tax credit available when I installed my charging station in 2013; not sure if it is still in effect. Plug-In America does not list such a rebate for CA currently: http://www.pluginamerica.org/incentives

    Limited Edition why same range?

Range is based on EPA test protocols which do not consider driving in cold temperatures and using resistance heaters or heat pumps. Unfortunately that is important for EV's in some areas.

How can dash show more than 83 mi range remaining?

In the US, 'range' (on all makes) shown on the winder sticker is based on the EPA driving test. You will not necessarily get this exact range unless you drive the exact EPA driving test protocol: http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/fe_test_schedules.shtml You can easily get much less or more range...

Can you buy an eGolf out of state? Florida?

The Federal Tax Credit has nothing to do with your state of residence. You apply for this credit with your Federal Tax Return in April on the year after you buy the car. Every owner gets this credit (up to their tax liability) if they apply. If you lease you do NOT get it.

Cold Temperatures effect on eGolf Range

Good article (from last year) on how cold weather affects EV's: http://www.plugincars.com/electric-car-drivers-report-cold-weather-impact-129218.html I wish EV makers would educate buyers a bit better on this topic.

    Bike rack options?

U-Haul carries Curt hitches; you might want to see if they can fit one to the e-Golf.

    Level 2 home charging experiences

I have the Leviton EVB40 with a 25' cable, wall plug, and 40 amp capacity. It has worked really well for the past year with our Ford C-Max Energi. We got the 40 amp for future EV's. They also have a 30 amp model. We are considering the eGolf to replace our other ICE vehicle.
