I'm in Hood River with a 2016 eGolf, had it over a year. I make lots of Portland trips (60 miles) and usually charge at Wood Village/Troutdale for the return trip. We've had a ton of snow these last four days, so I'm driving the Subaru, I'm afraid. My girlfriend likes to blast the heat.

Thanks for the info. Those are studded tires? I'm amazed that they didn't reduce your range. I avoid studs here in Oregon as our winter can be a mix on snow-less trips to Portland and snow-packed trips up the valley. So I look for good stud-less snow tires to cover the range of conditions...

Looks like good terms - the offer I got up in Portland Oregon (for an SEL) was ridiculous, and I ended up buying outright - not sure how that's going to work out for me in the long run. What happens if you exceed 7,500 miles per year though? And do they actually just look to see if you exceed...

I realize there's another thread from last year entitled "Snow Tires" (http://www.myvwegolf.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=659&p=5245&hilit=snow+tires#p5245), but it doesn't seem to get around to discussing my question: good snow tire choices, and the kind of range impact one needs to accept.

Today's question: Does anybody have suggestions for good winter tires that won't reduce range any more than necessary? Or even good all-season tires that are better than the stock tires that came with the car? Any experience with the kind of range reduction, if any, I might expect? Starting to...

Hopefully I'll never run out of juice but just in case I need a tow - does it need to be up on a trailer/flatbed or can it be towed by lifting the front, but rolling the rear wheels on the road? The manual doesn't address this.
