2018 eGolf - Trailer hitch for bike rack (or roof rack)

I have a 2" Ecohitch on our Bolt EV - these are excellent, and worth the cost. They are the packaged the best of any of the hitches - my brother works for UPS, and he has seen them all. Everybody else's packaging is weak, and gets beat up.

2019 egolf range in real life?

We have a 2017 (same 35.8kWh pack) and we see as high as 190 miles in the summer. In the winter, if it is in the 20F and up, we see as low as 120-130. If the temps drop into the low teens or single numbers, it goes down as low as 90-94, because the battery has to warm itself. We have the...

Plug won't go all the way in. .02 worth of plastic.

I had this happen once as well - some charging plugs leave stuff behind. You have to pull them out.

    Tires

We are using Nokian Hakka R3 winter tires - they have excellent grip in ice and snow (and even on dry pavement). Best of all, they are equal to the Ecopia tires for rolling resistance.

    Heated windshield

Having the direct heating windshield defroster is a excellent thing. It really saves range when driving in the winter. The next generation will have a super thin layer of silver inside the glass, so it won't have the little wires.

I am another person who would LOVE to own an ID.3.

    EV Efficiency

Our 2017 e-Golf SE is averaging 5.6 miles / kWh over almost 2,000 miles. That is 4 drivers - we almost exclusively use D all the time. Coasting whenever you can is the most efficient way to drive.

    Driver seat is very uncomfortable

I have had two e-Golfs - 2015 SEL and 2017 SE and the seats are probably the best of any car I have ever owned. I am 6'-4" and 230 pounds.

    Run a 30A rated L2 charger on a 30A circuit?

I think a 30A (or 32A) unit needs to be on a 40A cable and breaker. We have our 40A (JuiceBox Pro 40) on a 50A circuit.

VW to convert two ICE production plants to EV production

Yes, they will build the I.D. (aka Neo?) in a year or so. https://insideevs.com/volkswagen-i-d-prototype-videos/ After that, the I.D. Crozz - which will be the first to be sold in the US. Then the I.D. Vizzion (I think that's how it is spelled?). And the I.D. Buzz - which is an awesome...

    What’s a “good” miles/kWh?

You have to learn how to coast in the i3, and you have to work at it.
