Replace J1772 US socket for EU

I just wanted to come back here 4 years later to report that I am yet to tow my egolf to o Germany. In fact I just got it serviced at my local dealership. After years of flawless operation I splurged on an authorized service and they found charging door lock stuck. And I got an adapter made...

Replace J1772 US socket for EU

I get a lot of messages asking about an update on this thread. We've sourced a charging cable but turned out the battery side for US e-Golfs uses Audi e-tron like connector. So no plug and play. Another solution was a CCS conversion cable. Which are now available from at least two sources...

For some reason I have no swearing wheel buttons (poor man's version?). Just yesterday day I learnt you can swipe the screen left/right to change tracks (while playing form the phone/Spotify off course). It made me so happy I thought I'd share :) --- Mods: feel free to remove this post if...

Replace J1772 US socket for EU

I did get it cheap and will rely on the VW for service. I see now that I wasn't clear with the opening post: that car is already in the country and I don't import it personally :)

Replace J1772 US socket for EU

Hi everyone, thanks for replying. 1. It's 2014, first registered in 2015. AutoDNA VIN confirmed. 2. I've asked the same question on a Polish equivalent of this forum and someone shared this link: http://www.setec-power.com/news/380566 which is exactly what we're after. I've emailed the...

Replace J1772 US socket for EU

So what you're saying is there is no DC fast charging for this import? AC, with the mentioned cable and optimal conditions should still tak 4 hours to charge.

Replace J1772 US socket for EU

Hi everyone, new user here. I consider buying a used 2014 SEL e-golf imported from the US. If has DC fast chargin J1772 port in the US spec: Living in Poland I have access to J1772 DC fast charging but with EU version of the plug: Is there a viable option to change this socket in the car?
