After more than 20 min wait on hold, I finally talked to a person from VW America. She said 10k service is needed. Although I really love the egolf, the maintenance information is so confusing.
They told me it's free for 2015 model or 2016 model with VW care or something. I didn't pay for the maintenance package, so I assume VW care is not applicable for me. I hope I am wrong. Do you mind share where you got this information. Thank you very much!
Hello bay area egolf owners,
Is there any good dealer to recommend for 10k service? I contacted two dealership today in south bay
(1) dealer 1: about $170 including electrical check. When I asked why electrical check is included, they insisted it's required every 10k.
(2) dealer 2...
I don't know why my dealer didn't try to see it at all. Maybe they've made enough money from the lease deal. The overall cost is about $4522 over 3 years after all kinds of rebate/incentives/tax/fees ... which is kind of higher than what other people got.
Based on my research (disclaimer: I am not a good negotiator), the best deal for egolf SE I can get in the SF bay area is $110 average cost per month for 36 months ($3960 out of pocket cost for 36 months). This is after all tax, fees, CA rebate and etc. 10k miles / year.
There are more dealers...
Thanks everyone for the extra information.
Anyway, it is probably too late to consider it. When we picked up the car yesterday, they didn't try to sell any add-on options to my wife who was signing all the paperwork. I guess I will just be extra careful and keep my finger crossed ...
Hello,
After reading some posts on this topic, I am still debating whether I should get excess wear and tear insurance.
One dealer told me it's not that critical for normal commute, but could be important for places like San Francisco. Another dealer didn't even mention it if I hadn't...
This is the service schedule I got for 16 egolf from VW customer care.

I guess you can skip the 3yr one if your lease mileage is less than 10k/year?
The first one is just nothing but a visual...
