    Newbie preheating question

Just use the Car-Net app to preheat your car. I launch the app, go to Climate and switch on the Climate icon 15 mins before I need my plugged in car. I leave the desire temp set to HI and when I get to the car it is hot and toasty. This will also work with the car unplugged and with the...

    Key fob battery life

The fob for my SE 2017, bought in Dec 2017, lasted 13 months when it just died without any warning. Luckily it takes the same exact battery as the Nikon camera remote for which I had purchased batteries weeks before. The second fob is still running strong as it seldom gets used.

    New 2018 e-golf Owner here!

Tetrahydro, does your 2018 climate control reset to a default temp at startup? It was considered a feature on my 2017, but I and several others here have had the dealer change the software so that the climate control remembers the last user setting.

    e-Golf NC Hurricane Listen

Took my car to western NC in July, driving is a little here which is perfect for this car. I live down the road from two free EV stations and the local grocery store has another two and finally the city lot has free parking and charging after 6 pm. As we prepared for Florence to make it way...

Occasional poor HVAC cooling only via Car-net

I have only used it twice to cool the car and was disappointed that it didn't. Got in and the unit was on but no cold air, even though the car was plugged in to level 2 charger. However I have had great success warming up the car on chilly nights.

Can't find the wheel lock key!

VW through in the wheel locks as standard equipment. Took my wheel lock key from the flat tire inflation kit and put it in the glove box. This makes it much easier to get to and I don't have to hassle with repacking the kit.

    on/off button while driving

I avoid the mode button and stick to using regen levels and B drive via the gear shift. Coming from a Mazda3 5spd, it feels natural. And it kind of fun to estimate when to drop into B when timing a stop. Moved the car to western NC where things are a bit slower and my low numbers are 4.6 with...

Buy an eGolf w/no dealer support?

We are moving from CA to NC and I just can part with my e-Golf. Will have plenty of charging stations, plus the overnight garage power cord so getting a charge won't be an issue. And while I am concerned with no dealer support in NC, the car like most EVs seems reliable with next to no...

    Driving Range

About a month ago saw this as I pulled into work to get some free electrons. Thought it was pretty impressive, a range of 125 miles with a quarter charge to go. Really liking the e-Golf. https://photos.app.goo.gl/34Zn6byY5dzqx6Fp7

    Driving Range

I have noticed that the battery gauge is a much better indicator. I seem to average 10 miles per division. Just drove 100 miles since my last full charge and I have six left to go. So in theory I have 160 total range. I hope never need to visit the red zone of electron fumes. I used to watch...
