    Regenerative Braking Drive Modes Gimmicky?

I think some people in this thread are hung up in ICE-land. In an ICE car, you coast by lifting your foot all the way off the gas pedal. In your e-Golf, you have a choice. You can have it behave like an ICE car by leaving it in D, or you can turn the "gas" pedal into a much more useful control...

    New wheels for the eGolf

That number seems surprisingly large given some numbers I've seen online for difference in rolling resistance in tires. I'm curious if you're seeing any differences in the distance logged for the commute - that would be an indication that the calibration of the speedometer/odometer might be off...

    Candidate for SE e-Golf

I was lucky to be able to take advantage of the $2000 loyalty bonus on top of other markdowns last month - I got the SE for $1200 out the door and $145 a month (taxes included) *before* the $2500 CA incentive. Did you mean "for" work or "to" work? If the former, that implies that that distance...

    Yes it's a four-seater but...

What did your "state of charge" indicator say after the drive? The display in miles could be skewed by quite a bit based on what you did right before you arrived. The difference in charge level before/after the trip would be a more consistent measure of energy usage.

    Android Auto very broken

2016 SE, Moto G 2nd Gen, Android 5.0.2 Android Auto is flaky, but I've been able to get it to work. My issues are in getting it to connect in the first place - once connected, navigation and Pandora have been reliable. I do some app development, so I have Developer mode and USB debugging...

    Heat doesn't seem to work!

This is true in particular for resistive electrical heaters. Heat pumps are considerably more efficient, generating approximately 3 times more heat than resistive heaters in optimal conditions (relatively moderate temperatures). Heat pump efficiency starts dropping off below 40 degrees...

    Overnight Charge

Agree - JoulesThief you're out of line here.

    Overnight Charge

I have a 2016 SE; I've made the observation that I get some level of regen braking even after fully charging, but it'll only go to the first white hash mark in the range (out of three). I have to drive a few miles before it'll get into the higher levels. BTW: I interpreted Joulesthief's...

How much will a 2,000 ft hill affect range?

This estimate only makes sense if you end your drive at an elevation 1000 feet higher than you started it. Johnny's drive goes from sea level to 1800 feet and back to sea level and since we're counting round-trip anyway, there's no net elevation gain. Sure, you'll "lose" range on the uphill...

    $79 lease

I went for a $79 lease but asked to roll as much of the up front into the payments as possible. Here are the detailed numbers: Capitalized Cost: 25965.82 (includes destination charge) Capitalized Cost Reduction: 9335.72 Adjusted Capitalized Cost: 16630.10 Residual Value: 12238.50 Depreciation &...
