Why are you selling? You just got them installed a few months ago right? Kinda funny, because I'm selling my entire car!

FS: 2016 e-Golf SE, 31k miles, lowered on good wheels/tires (NorCal PRICE LOWERED!)

Surprisingly, I have not had much interest in this car since the first couple days after I listed it. Spread the word and give me an offer, I'm motivated to sell!

FS: 2016 e-Golf SE, 31k miles, lowered on good wheels/tires (NorCal PRICE LOWERED!)

Yeah, the prices are weird. I really considered trying to find another 2019 or 2020 if I could've gotten the $10-12k off MSRP from the dealer and qualified for all the Fed and CA rebates like my wife's 2019. The actual cost of that car ended up being only ~$13k! But that also assumes you qualify...

FS: 2016 e-Golf SE, 31k miles, lowered on good wheels/tires (NorCal PRICE LOWERED!)

So far two dealers have contacted me about buying it. That seems a little odd. I have noticed that the dealers are advertising this car for a lot more (~$15-17k) than private parties ($~11-14k). Seems more than the usual dealer markup.

FS: 2016 e-Golf SE, 31k miles, lowered on good wheels/tires (NorCal PRICE LOWERED!)

Hi all - Covid closed my office, so I don't really need my car for commuting anymore. Going to drive my old beater Volvo instead for the limited driving I actually do. So the 2016 e-Golf is for sale! We'll still have my wife's 2019 if I need my EV fix. The 2016 has 31k miles. Price lowered to...

suspension rattle from rear - what is it?

I notice something similar to what you're describing on both my 2016 and my wife's 2019. I think it's possibly the rubber in the sway bar bushings or some other bushing in the rear suspension. I had intended to go spray some silicone lubricant on the bushings to see if it goes away but haven't...

Very nice! What tires (and what size) are you getting?

Traded in 2016 SE, say hello to 2019 SEL

Since you already had one or more EVs and I assume you've already received some of these rebates how difficult was it to get them again? (I'm considering doing the exact same thing as you but got the $7500 fed credit in 2019, as well as the CA rebate and the PG&E $800 rebate.)

it's spring 2020...where are the SEs??

Oakland VW emailed me and said they have a couple SEs available. Hurry up if you want one! I believe they were advertising them online for about $6k discount off of MSRP, so it wasn't quite the deal I was hoping for ~$10k off).

it's spring 2020...where are the SEs??

I can't justify the extra $8k for the SEL either. If it was $4-5k maybe. But I'll keep my 2016 SE unless another good option comes around for under $20k new after rebates and etc. Or I may try to talk my wife into letting me get a used Model S for $30k.

it's spring 2020...where are the SEs??

I would like to trade my 2016 SE in for a new 2019 (or "2020") e-Golf SE but there aren't ANY AT ALL on dealer lots. Plenty of SELs available but the best purchase price I can find is about $31k. We bought our 2019 SE for $23k last year and if I could find another one I'd buy it immediately so I...

Driving in B mode often can cause issues?

This fits with my experience too, I've done many brake jobs on A3/A4/B5 platforms and always find that rear pads wear about 2x faster than front pads. Seems logical that they would continue that on to later generations and the e-Golf.

Driving in B mode often can cause issues?

One pedal driving obviously! I like not having to move my foot over to the brake pedal if I don't have to.

Range loss: not perceptible (city driving mostly) but probably some, on the highway maybe 5%. Acceleration improvement is VERY perceptible. Cornering and braking improvement is absolutely massive! But like you said, you need to check the weight of every possibly wheel AND TIRE combination you...

    Need new tires...

There are 100 choices of tires to choose from. You do not have to use Bridgestones or LRR tires! Go to Tire Rack, type in the car, and explore all the ratings of the dozens of choices and choose one in your price range that does well in rain and/or snow and/or whatever conditions you want to...

Before you go chasing brake solutions, first put good TIRES on it. I suspect you'll be surprised at how much of a difference it makes. 225 width tires in any decent summer or high performance all season tread are going to make a world of difference. I'm still on the stock brakes and in autocross...

Buying a used Golf-E range question

Batteries seem to be holding up very well in general. I have the car you are looking at: 2016 SE bought used with 26k miles. My range ranges from 95 miles in city driving in Eco+ mode, to 70 miles of highway driving in Normal mode, to 35 miles for a full day of Autocross. 8-)

Driving in B mode often can cause issues?

I am suspicious of the diagnosis from the dealer. "Glazed" is a specific term, and I would bet yours just were rusty or perhaps the caliper was a little stuck and it caused some buildup on the inside surface of one rotor. I do agree with those who said they had a similar problem (high-pitched...
