    I used a 2032 for awhile until it didn't. Tried replacing with new 2032 on my only KeyFOB and it would not work. I was not able to use my e-golf (2nd car anyway) until I realized it works with a 2025 cell. Really need to get a spare KeyFOB before this 2032 damaged one dies.

    A few tabs broke, but it seemed to still hold in place. However I used a bit of polyurethane glue to hold the door... I dremeled out the locking feature on the door backer plate. So I'm done!

    None of the tricks posted here worked for me, but... Here is the mechanical solution I got the idea for from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DN3H43QGZ2k (1) pop off the door cover from the plastic backer/hinge. Some tabs might break but the door should be possible to pop back on...

    True but keep in mind the cables could be pretty thin, being very low current, 1 to 3 Amps. The real enabler could be the new super thin flexible metal backed PV panels, if small enough versions exist, they can curve to fit the large curvature on most cars.

    Solar Proof of Concept

    How about this? Get enough small PV panels that add up to between 300 and 400V in series. Direct connect to the DCFC port with some sort of arduino controller. It may need a relay that shuts off the PV direct DC when charging of driving.

    Anyone brave enough to try ACC installation?

    I might be interested in this if VW openpilot bounty is claimed. I have a VAGCOM HEX-CAN OBD cable and as soon as I receive my 2016 e-Golf I will look at possible recoding for ACC without going to VW service. Otherwise I will ask a VW service tech if they can recode the ECU.
