Today, from Germany, Volkswagen announced that their second electric vehicle, the e-Golf, is now available in Germany from €34,900. Just months after the launch of the Volkswagen e-Up!, this is the second electric vehicle from the automaker in 6 months. The Volkswagen e-Golf! has a 24.2 kWh battery pack that is good for “between 130 and 190 kilometers” depending on driving style, vehicle load, and road conditions.
The electric engine delivers 85 kW of power, and can accelerate the electric Golf to 62 mph in around 10 seconds.
Since this is one of the most expensive vehicles in the Golf lineup, the e-Golf comes standard with many premium features such as a high-end ‘Discover Pro’ radio and navigation system, a leather wrapped steering wheel, a heated windshield, as well as automatic climate control, and parking heater and ventilation to keep the interior at an optimum temperature even while you’re off shopping.
The e-Golf looks very similar to the gasoline powered Golf, except for signature C-shaped LED daytime running lights, full LED headlights, and aerodynamically optimised alloy wheels.
The Volkswagen e-Golf is available in Germany now, and prices include an 8-year, 160,000 kilometer battery gaurantee.
