Re: What is the plastic thing in the trunk?

Here I am, back again a year later searching for this thread because I had to use the pump and now can't figure out how to pack it away again. I have a masters degree in engineering and I can't figure it out without picutres..! It really is a user-hostile bit of design, all in the name of sa...

Re: Lease a 2015 eGolf SEL now or wait for the 2016 eGolf SE

I agree there is "a lot right" with even the eGolf. For instance, I love the look of the car and I love the feel of the drive. If I forget the center console and most electronic systems of the car, I love it. That's why I said I want the 2016 eGolf and not a different 2016 car :-) Everyone's level o...

Re: Lease a 2015 eGolf SEL now or wait for the 2016 eGolf SE

You can get a great deal on a 2015, but I desperately wish I had waited. The nav/audio/menu system on the 2015 is terrible. Support for Apple's CarPlay system would be a HUGE plus for me. I also expect that many of the little weird/wrong thing of the 2015 should be fixed like not being able to lock ...

Re: Free to charge at work..Time to lease an e-Golf?

Thank you all for your input. My commute round trip is roughly 20 miles, so it would not be an issue to get back and forth on one charge. The e-Golf is really the only EV(besides Model S) that I'm actually attracted to. A relative let me test drive his Volt, and while I was impressed with the handl...

Re: Free to charge at work..Time to lease an e-Golf?

I currently change all of the time at work. It was one of the main reasons I bought the car. However, even if free charging at work were to end today, I would still be happy I leased my e-golf. When you look at the electricity costs per mile of driving, it is still SIGNIFICANTLY lower than the price...

Re: new carnet web site...

The graph is correct but the vertical axis shows kWh consumed for the trip, not mi/KWh that I would expect. You are right that the vertical axis is not claiming to show (the much more useful) miles/kWh... however if it's showing kWh as it says, it's important to note that it's still wrong. You can ...

Re: new carnet web site...

Site is super slow for me, and it appears that is changed all my charging schedule setting to be ready by 10am, when I had it set for 7am. I can't find EST anywhere on the site, but basic math is making me think that it got reset to EST. So I did change it to 6:30am. Does this mean that my car will...

new carnet web site...

Is it possible they made this site worse?! Here is my list of problems I found during about the first 2 minutes of use: 1) need to reset password upon first log in, and no special characters are allowed (and to add to the stupidity of that requirement, the message that comes up when you try to use a...

Wrong way driver warnings

I've had my car about 5 months now, and I've seen a pop up message (on both console as well as center display) maybe 5 times now about a wrong way driver on some road (usually in CA, almost never local to me). Does anyone know where the car pulls this info from? Will it show other useful messages li...

Re: Location of charging port

The BMW i3 which is the only other car (in the US anyway) that has the CCS port, and it is also located on the same place on the car, so one would hope that all CCS charging stations would have cords that work for both cars, no matter how they are parked. Yes, it does seem to be a relatively common...
