ABRP with OBD: Mapping App with live data on state of charge

Just an FYI for e-Golf owners... I own a 2019 e-Golf SEL Premium and have recently subscribed to a Better Route Planner (ABRP premium, needed for live data) and have installed the Vgate vLinker MC+ Bluetooth OBD dongle. While ABRP is still a bit buggy, particularly with Apple iOS and CarPlay, the li...

Re: I damaged my car

I live in Minnesota, which is not yet a CARB state, and had to purchase my new e-Golf out of state. Nevertheless, several VW dealerships in the Minneapolis-St. Paul do service the e-Golf and have trained technicians. I don't know if this was because the dealerships were proactive or not, but for the...

Re: PSA: CAR NET shutdown MY19 and earlier

Here is an idea for the software engineers at VW. Since you've terminated the ability of our e-Golfs to speak via 3G to your servers and for us to use the (actually terrible) Car-Net app. Could you please give us an app that would allow us to check charge status, control charging, and control heatin...

Re: Pre-heating without charging at departure time

I finally got around to programming a new charging location. First, I set the time for the new location to the later departure time with a charge level of 80%, the level of the previous event. In the new location, I turned on the environmental (heating, cooling) function. This approach did work, nam...

Pre-heating without charging at departure time

I own a 2019 e-Golf SEL, and I charge at home with reduced rates from my utility between midnight and 6:00 am. I've set up my departure prefs to charge to 80% by 6:00 am---no issues here. However, I do not leave for work until later in the morning, and I'd like to pre-heat the cabin without addition...

Re: eGolf wheel & tire recommendations

Just my 2 cents... I recently installed Michelin X-Ice Snow tires on cheap alloy wheels (the dealer could not find compatible steel wheels) for my 2019 e-Golf. I was rather surprised to see no noticeable decrease in range during the first couple of drives. Perhaps this should not be surprising, sinc...

Re: Fleeting red ATTENTION popup - 2019 e-Golf SE

This happened to me just about a week ago on my 2019 SEL. A big red alert popped up on the dashboard then suddenly disappeared. I am guessing it was just a sensor glitch for the auto braking system, as mentioned in the previous post.

Re: Rattle on new 2019 SEL

I took the car to the dealer. The cause was two missing and one loose bolt on the belly pan, which was rattling against the subframe. The sound was echoing up through the dashboard area. Warranty covered all costs. It took 4 hours, but success was achieved!

Rattle on new 2019 SEL

I purchased a new 2019 e-Golf SEL Premium from a remote dealer and shipped it to my home. Comparing to my 2016 model, I love the extra range, etc. However, there is a disconcertingly loud rattle that seems to be coming from the front dash that is heard on even slightly bumpy roads. Has anyone else h...

Re: Torn leatherette seat

To follow up: I got a couple of quotes. The vinyl panel can be replaced for about $250-$300, but the replacement panel will likely be subtly different from original (one upholsterer said, "You'll know the difference, but nobody else will."). I decided instead to purchase the entire OEM bottom seat c...
