Re: displayed SOC around 50%

Right. Aviloo apparently got 31.5 kWh from VW.

Re: displayed SOC around 50%

Nice data set! I will try your suggestion. I got 31.5 kWh from Aviloo battery test website.

Re: displayed SOC around 50%

Based on my data recording of the pack voltage and SoC over the years, I've come to the conclusion that the pack voltage vs SoC curve is non-linear, with a second order polynomial fitting the data pretty well. I've seen that the data at the high and low SoC ends fits the curve better than the data a...

Re: displayed SOC around 50%

I think the SOH numbers are for the 12 V battery, not the HV battery. The best way to determine the HV battery pack energy content is by performing a driving test. FYI my car now has 44,000 miles on the odometer and on a long highway drive, I calculated a usable 29 kWh from the pack (29/31.5=92% SoH...

Re: displayed SOC around 50%

Strange. I have left my car sitting around 50% for several weeks and saw no change in SoC or pack voltage. Also, it is weird that the cell voltage goes up when the SoC goes down, and the pack voltage is unchanged. I don't understand how the SoC can change when the pack voltage is identical at 326.0 ...

Re: Will not accept charge.

Just checked the warranty manual for my car: USA e-Golf has 5 year / 60,000 mile drivetrain warranty, which covers high voltage system in car.

Re: Will not accept charge.

Yes, in the USA the e-Golf has a 5 (6? - I need to check the booklet in the glovebox) year high voltage system warranty in addition to the battery itself. You should check.

Re: Will not accept charge.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Is there still a power train / high voltage system warranty on your car?

I agree charging at higher amps (13 amps at home vs 30 amps at work?) should not cause a problem. Has anyone else used the charging station at work after you did and have an issue?

Re: hot ambient and charging

I'm an engineer and I like to know how mechanisms work. I routinely repair my cars myself and have been taking apart machines and repairing machines since I was a child (a long time ago....). If you visit a VW parts website, you can find schematics of the cooling system and you will see there is no ...
