Re: Charging port locking issues. Won't lock or unlock - FIX and BYPASS

VW does not follow the J1772 protocol and keeps the connector locked in the car even when the button on the connector is pressed. VW requires you to unlock your car first and then you can remove the J1772 connector. On 2017 and later models, you have 30 seconds to remove the connector before the loc...

Re: Squeak coming from front end?

Yes, I hear squeaking, too. I need to try a few 40 mph panic stops (with nobody behind me) to see if it is the brake pads dragging.

Re: Where do you do your maintenance?

I don't bring my e-Golf to the dealer for routine service (tire rotation is all, really). If you have a drive system, battery, or high voltage system problem, I wonder who else other than a VW dealer could repair those issues. I hope those issues are extremely rare for e-Golf owners.

Re: Most efficient LRR tire to replace Ecopia 422

Manufacturers put a lot of effort into specifying tires to get good fuel economy numbers, so I suspect the Ecopias are one of the the best choices for the e-Golf. Maybe Tire Rack has efficiency ratings? Maybe check what other very efficient EVs use: Hyundai Ioniq Electric, Tesla Model 3 SR+, Chevrol...

Re: Any news on anyone doing 2015 battery upgrades?

Totally understand how even 15 miles of range can make a huge difference, and the main reason why I returned my leased 2015 to get the larger pack. "shoehorn" is the right word. If you look at the physical layout of the e-golf pack, you will see that VW crammed the cells into every nook an...

Look at the five J1772 contacts on the car inlet with a flashlight and check for any debris. Do the same for your charging station connector. Remove any debris.

Re: Any news on anyone doing 2015 battery upgrades?

1. If your pack is under warranty and has less than 70% NET capacity, then VW owes you a replacement pack.
2. I suspect it is possible to install the 35.8 kWh pack in your car, but do not know if VW or anyone else will do it.

What is your goal?

What do you mean by “larger OEM batteries”?

Re: Faster Level 1 Charger

I believe the reason VW now only issues 10 amp L1 EVSEs is because owners plugged into circuits with other loads and tripped the 15 amp breaker, causing a lots of VW customer care and dealership complaints.

Re: Headlights for 2019 eGolf SE

How about aftermarket parts until you get the OEM one?

Check out VW parts sellers like Deutsche parts, fcp euro, ecs tuning, etc.?
