Re: 2015 eGolf Battery Life

Wonderful. I have nearly 60k miles on my 2017 "big" battery e-Golf. Can drive on highway in summer and get 105-110 miles after using about 80% of pack. My car has also been great.

Re: Squeak coming from front end?

The black things are lug screw covers. There is a loop shaped tool in the fix a flat bag (as well as lug screw key) to remove them. VW takes a standard socket to remove lug screws.

Re: Squeak coming from front end?

I still think it is worth your time to try several hard stops after driving in reverse or panic stops, going forward, from 40 mph, both of which should fully engage friction brakes and should reset brake pads.

Re: A/C Expansion Valve and Cut Off Valve

I only see one shut off valve on this schematic - #6

Where are the additional three valves you mentioned?

Thanks!

Re: Does e-golf have to be coded to a new 12v battery?

Dealer not strictly required. OBD Eleven can also code the battery. Standard OBD dongle / software will not necessarily get the job done.

Clearing and reading codes is NOT the same as coding. "Coding" is VW's equivalent "programming" word.

Re: Air conditioning seems too cold...

Why not just turn the temperature up higher? Reduce fan speed? Turn on Eco mode? It sounds like the A/C is working just fine (very good) but the control algorithm is a bit problematic (not great, but not horrible either). There is a temperature sensor somewhere in the center console, so why not try ...

Re: Fin Antenna Elements

Your worries are unfounded. VW confirmed many years ago there would never be OTA updates for the e-Golf. I called VW customer service several times shortly after I got my car and was told repeatedly there would not be any software updates offered by dealers, either. Luckily, the software is pretty g...

Re: Replacing the 12 volt battery

Sure. I’ll wait for someone to purchase an LFP 12 V battery for me. 😁

Re: Replacing the 12 volt battery

For those of us with back issues, not having to lift a 12 V battery is certainly worth the cost of installation. I will never replace a 12 V battery myself again.

Re: Replacing the 12 volt battery

I saw much higher prices, so this Lithium model makes more sense. I wonder how a “traditional” 12 V compares to AGM with respect to lifetime.
