Re: 2018 eGolf - Trailer hitch for bike rack (or roof rack)

This one is for 18 and 19. It is a little pricey. https://torkliftcentral.com/trailer-hitches/rear-mounted-receiver-hitches/ecohitch/volkswagen/volkswagen-golf I have a 2" Ecohitch on our Bolt EV - these are excellent, and worth the cost. They are the packaged the best of any of the hitches - my br...

Re: 2019 egolf range in real life?

We have a 2017 (same 35.8kWh pack) and we see as high as 190 miles in the summer. In the winter, if it is in the 20F and up, we see as low as 120-130. If the temps drop into the low teens or single numbers, it goes down as low as 90-94, because the battery has to warm itself. We have the Bridgestone...

I had this happen once as well - some charging plugs leave stuff behind. You have to pull them out.

Re: Tires

We are using Nokian Hakka R3 winter tires - they have excellent grip in ice and snow (and even on dry pavement). Best of all, they are equal to the Ecopia tires for rolling resistance.

Re: Heated windshield

Having the direct heating windshield defroster is a excellent thing. It really saves range when driving in the winter.

The next generation will have a super thin layer of silver inside the glass, so it won't have the little wires.

Re: EV Efficiency

Our 2017 e-Golf SE is averaging 5.6 miles / kWh over almost 2,000 miles. That is 4 drivers - we almost exclusively use D all the time. Coasting whenever you can is the most efficient way to drive. Just curious. What temperature range and terrain do you typically drive in? We live in eastern Massach...

Re: Driver seat is very uncomfortable

I have had two e-Golfs - 2015 SEL and 2017 SE and the seats are probably the best of any car I have ever owned. I am 6'-4" and 230 pounds.
