Re: How do you all prevent theft of charging cables in public?

How do I confirm the car has DC charging capability? Post a picture of your charging port and we can tell you if you have DC charging capability. All eGolf ports have a circle with 5 holes. That's the J1772 port, for Level 1 and Level 2 AC charging. Below that circle some eGolfs have a removable co...

Re: Spring-like noise when braking

I hear the same sound on my 2019 SE, and I heard it on my 2016 SE too. I'm not worried about it. I agree with f1geek that it's likely one of those normal sounds that we're hearing only because there's no engine noise to mask it. On the other hand, I'm really hoping my 2019 SE doesn't develop the sam...

Re: How do you all prevent theft of charging cables in public?

I don't understand your question. If you're using your own portable EVSE, the methods I suggested will work no matter if it's a Level 1 or Level 2 EVSE. Are you asking how to stop someone from trying to unplug your car? Visibly locking your cable should be a deterrent. But FYI while I'm sure someone...

Re: How do you all prevent theft of charging cables in public?

What model eGolf do you have? As f1geek says, some models lock the EVSE plug when you lock the car. If you have a model such as the 2016 SE which doesn't lock, you have a couple of options. If it's just an occasional thing, put the brick of your charger in your trunk and close the hatch on your cabl...

Re: 2019 eGolf Prices Paid

Could. you elaborate on what this SCCA discount is? I also purchased from Oakland couple of months ago at $10,500 off but I was not aware of this additional discount. For more information, click the link to Slickdeals in my post above. You can get $500 off for being a member of the VW Partner Progr...

Re: 2019 eGolf Prices Paid

7.5 months after I returned my 2016 SE lease, I'm back in the family. I'm cut-and-pasting a message I just posted to the Slickdeals thread mentioned earlier in this topic: https://slickdeals.net/f/13163326-21-000-off-msrp-2019-volkswagen-egolf-w-driver-s-assistance-package-125-mile-epa-range-final-p...

Re: Really dumb question about charging

2. I've also set a minimum charge of 80% so that, after a drive of any length, charging will begin according to the schedule. I've set the schedule to begin in early evening with a departure time of about 12 hours later so that charging mostly takes place in the cooler hours of the summer. You shou...

Re: Squeaky Wheels and Rattling Vent

At startup my 2016 SE would squeal from the right front wheel, the kind of sound you get when your brake pads need replacing. Though it would go away after a few minutes of driving, those few minutes were embarrassing. It seemed to be temperature dependent. It would start up when the weather was und...

Re: 2016 e-Golf in hot Texas!

I asked the dealer to fully charge the e-Golf and send me a picture of the odometer. Maybe this one will be in better shape. Gero, unforunately this won't tell you any useful information. On this board and others, that screen is known as the "Guess-O-Meter". It's simply an estimate of your range ba...
