Re: Good To Go Pass (WA State)

I stuck my FasTrak transponder on the black surface below the rear view mirror and it works fine.

Re: Charging using stock EVSE ('charging cord') in hot weather - can it get too hot?

That stinks. I would not expect an issue in Canada. I do not believe putting the control box in an insulated container will help as this will keep the heat inside the container and raise the temperature of the control box, leading to a fault. It clearly sounds like an overheating problem, so try to ...

Re: Buying a 2017 e-Golf, 1st EV, need advice!

Congrats! EV specific things I would check: Does the included L1 charging station (granny cable) work? Verify L2 AC charging and DCFC charging works. Verify the e-manger enables delayed charging. Reset the "extended trip" (forgot exact wording) stats, charge to 100% and drive the car down to 10% SoC...

Re: what should happen when I...

I had a 2015 and now a 2017 and am not aware of any recalls. You might be able to get a software update so the car remembers your last HVAC setting, but depending on your dealer, you may have to pay for it as a 2016 is well out of the bumper to bumper warranty period.

Re: E-timer

If you mean e-Manager, the manual is pretty instructive. There is an e-Golf manual online that VW offers. Also, if the car is unable to communicate with your station, there is most likely some problem with the hardware.

Re: Tire pressure and tire replacement

I would have replaced the single tire. I bought a spare tire, lug wrench, and Jack for my e-Golf.

Re: what should happen when I...

I would not call green light blinking, but throbbing, when charging. Solid green light stays on only for a minute or two and then turns off - unless you are standing there watching the light, you most likely will not be able to observe the solid green light but see no light. Solid yellow can mean a ...

Re: Cant find certified egolf. 5 mile commute make it ok?

I suspect most online car sellers don't know sh*t about BEVs. All warranties are transferrable to new owner, including bumper to bumper, powertrain, rust, high voltage battery system, and any other warranty I forgot. e-Golf batteries degrade very slowly compared to Leaf (Leaf has worst deg of all BE...

Re: Third Party App ("Charge App") as alternative to Car-Net for remote/scheduled charging

My car-net access lapsed after three years of free service. I will not pay to continue the service.
