Hi all,

In order to protect your privacy, please delete your phone book, and navigation points of interest before you return your leased golf or sell it.

Look through the owner's manual for car registrations left as book marks.

Call car-net and have them delete your information.

The previous owner of my e-golf did not do this! (yes, I already deleted all that I could find!)

1) to clear the POI and destinations for the navigation, bring up the navigation display, hit the setup, navigate to delete.
2) for the infotainment system, setup, reset to factory.
3) for the phone, setup, unpair all devices and reset.

This is good info but not limited to e-Golfs, or even people trading in their car. A lot of travelers will rent cars and then pair their phones to the car's Bluetooth, then forget to un-pair the phone when they return it. If they also downloaded their address book to the car's infotainment system, now that's in there as well.

One time I rented a Passat from Hertz and I couldn't pair my phone until I deleted at least one phone profile from the car's memory, because it was filled up from previous renters.
