Newbie question alert! Turning the heater on instantly reduces the range estimate on the dash by 12-15 miles. If you turn the heater off, it goes back up to what it was before. Is this considered "normal"? :ugeek:

Regarding my 2016 e-Golf SE, when we first got it, the estimated range on the dash gauge after a full charge was about 83 +/-. Over these few months of ownership however, that +/- number has kept creeping up and this morning it was 108! If I don't use the heater or AC, the number gradually...

Thanks for your reply. Should have checked the manual...turns out there are several pages of explanations with diagrams. The e-Golf apparently has a dedicated negative (-) jump start terminal. Looks like it is ok to use your e-Golf to jump another vehicle so long as you follow THE PROCEDURE IN...

Internal short in the HV wiring harness would be a serious problem on any EV. Hopefully just a fluke that it originally passed factory QC and then the actual failure only occurred after some miles/vibration/moisture had a chance to expose the problem. That would have been a very expensive repair...

Just a general Good Samaritan question. Is this ok to do or could it damage the EV?

We just leased our 2016 SE and of course it has the halogens and so I'm starting to think about changing them to LED's and I was wondering if anyone out there has done it and might have some advice for those of us still in the "thinking about it" phase?
