    Rattle on new 2019 SEL

Yup, remove everything loose from the car, empty glove box and any storage to be sure. I had a roof liner rattle that VW did fix under warranty, was a pretty painless process but I think it helped that the rattle would clearly stop if you pressed up on the roof liner. My dealer told me rattles...

    Error: Electrical System. Stop!

According to this: https://www.usitc.gov/publications/332/journals/the_supply_chain_for_electric_vehicle_batteries.pdf Modules are assembled in Hungary, which would be Samsung's plant: https://www.argusmedia.com/en/news/1996257-samsung-sdi-to-expand-hungary-ev-battery-plant Also if you look at a...

    Error: Electrical System. Stop!

I wouldn't expect them to replace the whole pack, but pulling a module, dissembling it, swapping 3 cells, and reassembling it at HV tech hourly rates seems way more expensive than just swapping a whole module. Especially since the supplier normally makes the modules for VW (Panasonic or Samsung...

    Battery fantasy

Yeah the Leaf proves it's technically possible, I just don't think there is enough of a eGolf market for it to be worthwhile for anyone to do. Batteries have plenty of value in the storage aftermarket so the car part of the vehicle is the least valuable.

    Error: Electrical System. Stop!

It's weird to me they would replace individual cells instead of the whole module.

    Smart charging app for VW

I'm up for helping but don't have solar and don't use time of use electricity billing. I also don't drive/charge a whole lot and use 120v charging almost exclusively. So probably not the best candidate, but I am quite technical. Let me know if you don't have any more appropriate volunteers.

    What’s a “good” miles/kWh?

It's important to include your units. Based on the numbers it sounds like you're talking about kilometers. 5 km/kWh would be around the low you would see in hard winter conditions, 8 km/kWh would be a summer time city driving number. Sounds like you're doing fine.

    12V Battery Replacement Questions

No it doesn't, I already quoted that post: "Any VAG “MQB” platform cars (not Hybrids or Electrics)." I said it was useful as changing the battery serial number resets the capacity measure, but it's not needed because the car will learn it over time without a reset. I guess y'all are made of...

    12V Battery Replacement Questions

No, they are the exact same thing. This coding is for BEM equipped cars with start/stop feature. Does nothing in the egolf and is not even required in BEM equipped cars. You are misapplying information here without understanding the context. The link you provided even acknowledges this: "Any...

    12V Battery Replacement Questions

Because the eGolf does not have a BEM system requiring this coding change. It's specifically for vehicles with stop/start systems. It won't hurt anything, but it also doesn't do anything, waste of time and effort. Even for vehicles with start/stop/BEM not coding is fine, the ECU adapts to the...

    12V Battery Replacement Questions

Uh, definitely YMMV. I've had the 12v disconnected for more than a few hours on multiple 2019 eGolfs without issue. Sometimes you get the Christmas lights on startup but a turning it off and on a few times and a drive around the block always returns everything to normal in my experience. Maybe...

    Electrical system failure: Stop!

Must have been the 12v, no way they replaced the HV battery in 3 days.

    Help with Battery/Range Degradation

Interesting business model. I'm curious if you're just pulling the car reported SOC or the actual charge/capacity data pulled from the CAN bus? I'm thinking you're missing a lot of relevant data like temperature and number of fast charges, but I suppose that's what the machine learning is for...

1st Time EV Owner - Questions

Agreed on the charging recommendations above. I do 80% max on the timer, can always hit the full charge button in the charger port area if I need 100%. If you enjoy music I highly recommend the Helix audio upgrade, transforms the stock system. Longest eGolf specific thread is probably here...

Charging port locking issues. Won't lock or unlock - FIX and BYPASS

With the size of VW and the comparatively small run of eGolfs it would likely cost them more to re-design, re-tool, re-document, re-train, etc. for the new part than it costs to just fix any that blow during the 3 year warranty (I did chuckle at all the bold 7 YEAR 100,000 MILE WARRANTY signs in...
