Charger lock - make it stop

We have 2-4 EV parking spots per charger at work. People need to be nudged a lot to remember to move their cars though. I would like to disable the port lock to help with sharing. Also, I usually have something to put into the car (like my kid) before I can get to the charger lock and by...

What's most efficient. Drive in D or drive in B?

I feel like B is a must for stop and go traffic, since you can sort of continuously feather the throttle and rarely ever need to hit the brakes. It gives a very direct feel that makes it very pleasant to drive even given the circumstances. The other day I did 4.8 mi/kWh on my 23 mile commute...

    Lease Cost Breakdown

@NewbieEV So the line on your leasing document that says CAP RED TAX amount is only tax on your $1425 down payment, as opposed to tax on $7500 + $1425? I don't think legally the dealer can collect the cap reduction tax and then not give it to the state, so if the tax is not due on the...

    CA - plate/sticker delivery time?

I got plates 10 days after purchase, they were mailed to me from the dealer. So score one for my dealer. Sent the HOV application in the day after (yesterday). HOV access was a big incentive for me, every commute day I look forward to it :)

    Car-net and delayed charging

Wanted to share my own experiences with this, I would love to figure out a solution. Delayed charging has never worked, but the climate control does turn on at the desired departure time (this seems very reliable). I've set up delayed charging with both the iPhone app and also with the...

Has anybody registered for Car-Net for conditioning?

The climate control engaged at my departure time, but the delayed charging didn't work, so the website has no effect on that. (I manually forced it to charge since it hadn't started by late)

Has anybody registered for Car-Net for conditioning?

On the carnet website. If you choose the e-Settings tab from on the very left hand side, you'll get a menu on the right. The menu has the option "Manage your battery" with the view link next to it. Then on the right hand side there's an option for me that says "Energy Schedule is not...

    Lease Cost Breakdown

@tigger19687 It seems like VW NA keeps a shorter leash on their dealers, though I guess I'll find out since I won't get warranty work where I bought it.

    Lease Cost Breakdown

@arcane - I'm sure you can get the car serviced at any VW dealer that sells e-Golfs, so theoretically Sacramento could be an option. (in Eco+ mode all the way)

National Lease Extended Through Monday 1/5 (apparently)

I got an email from a dealer stating this, though I've closed a deal already. paul

    Lease Cost Breakdown

Oakland VW gave $332 off MSRP in addition to the $2000 VW contribution. The deal that just ended included a $141 dealer contribution to get to the advertised numbers (excl tax/fees). They said they had 5 cars (must have been inbound since only mine was there), so seemed they wanted to offload...

    Lease Cost Breakdown

$315 is about right for 39% residual, 25199 cap cost, 0.000050 money factor. I'm pretty sure I know which dealer you went to. It sounds like SoCal is better pricing as well. I bought my last car in Pasadena due to bay area dealer markup. The trip back in an e-Golf would be an an adventure :)

    Charger Port Lock

Ok interesting. I'll have to play around with it and see if I can get that to happen. I think so far I've probably opened the door (to put something inside) and then gone to remove the charger. Thanks! Paul

    Lease Cost Breakdown

I'm in the same region, just leased on Monday. I managed to get a $332 dealer contribution. I did a 12k mile lease with 39% residual. My experience was the same with many dealers marking up the cost, some not being so straightforward about it, one saying they just wouldn't honor the lease...
