Crazy to attempt 910 mile road Trip in 2019 eGolf SE ?

That’s what I would do if I had the time. I’d go up the Oregon coast. There are finally a few DC chargers and many hotel options with their own or nearby free L2 chargers. Going the coast will keep you at a 55 mph speed limit so you will get closer to 5 mpkWh vs 3.5 going 70mph. I wouldn’t...

    Higher Mileage Buying Question

I’ve got about that many miles on my 2019 and live in western WA. I have DC charged maybe a dozen times and never back to back. I have not noticed any degradation. You should be good to go for a 60 mile commute for a long time. The factory 8 year warranty will cover you for a while yet.

    2017 or 2019 battery?

8,000 on the 2019 should work basically as well as it did brand new. Very little degredation. With the 2017 I'd want to know how it has been stored. If it was left at 0 or 100% for 3 years, that could prove problematic.

2016 egolf fail to charge at level 2

Doesn’t the 8 year 100k warranty apply to all high voltage components? This might be covered. Worth checking out.

    105 Mile Commute

If you are driving 75 with the heat on, no, I dont think you can make it. If you keep it to 65 and just use seat warmers, yes, i think it will work fine. But you don't have much margin for error, you'd have to charge to at least 90 if not 100% daily and couldnt go too far off your commute...

    charging limitations

I was just about to post that article from Fastned. I get very close to that DC charge curve the 5 or so times I've used a 50kW-150kW DC charger.

    Lane assist does not work?

I believe lane assist is only available on the SEL.

Why spend over $600 for L2 chargers if $275 Tesla Connector is fine?

This works great for teslas. Not so much for any other brand EV. You could get this setup and a Tesla Tap for ~$230 but then you are up near the price of the others you listed.

Small Difference in Lower Grille on 2019 - Early versus Late Production Run?

I've noticed this as well. My 2019 (built late 2018) purchaced January 2019 is liek yours without it. I think first saw the chnage around April/May.

May have bitten off more than I can chew--road trip and general newbie questionsquestions

You can do it! This will be a great chance to get to know your car. I live in Vancouver, WA and have taken mine up to Seattle and down to Eugene a few times each but never the whole stretch. Here is what I would reccomend: Pro tip #1, keep it to 65mph max – even in WA where the limit is 70...

    Chargepoint plug too big

Ive got a 2019 SE and a Juicebox Classic and it fits just fine. One thing ive noticed is that any time ive had trouble getting a plug in, its been because the rubber washer in the plug has come loose. Take a look at that.

2019 egolf range in real life?

The only time I have had less than 125 was doing 65mph for 105 miles (ended up with 15 miles left when i charged). Just yesterday I drove 120 miles (42mph average speed) and got home with 1/4 charge remaining. With no climate control its pretty easy to get 5 m/kWh if you dont go faster than 55...
