All of the sudden my 2016 SE will only charge around half

On my 2015 e-Golf, there are two small buttons next to the charging receptacle. One means charge now at full amperage, and the other means use delayed charging programmed by the app. If you set a charge level in the app of 50%, that could be explaining, or you could hit the button to start...

"Shaking" When driving on grated surface of a metal drawbrdg

Both our gas and electric Golf have the same experience around Seattle. I figure it's a characteristic of the tire in relation to the surface.

Vehicle only charging to 83-86mi. Was getting 100+

The miles remaining of charge calculation is based on energy in the battery and miles per kWh driven recently. In the bottom of the right large dial there is a second dial showing actual charge of battery. Is it charging to full? What is your recent miles per kWh? Has it gotten colder where...

From Cupertino to Capitola/Aptos and back?

I drive my e-golf to Santa Cruz regularly from near the SJ airport. It's 26 miles and I use 2/3rds a full charge round trip. Going 40 miles into Capitola, and I think you'd be going into uncomfortable territory. Highway 17 is largely a 2-3 mile/kWh zone, which is low. A few tips: 1. At the...

Whole Foods really needs to blow their parking lot...

In all fairness, this experience was good. Within 10 minutes one of them moved and I could access one the CCS chargers. I only meant to make a Fall EV pun.

Please, give me the sales pitch!

You might try more dealers... This January I'm moving from CA to WA with my e-golf and found that one of the bigger dealerships is ready to help even though they don't sell the e-golf. Might be the case in NC even if it isn't your closest dealer

    Silver lining to diesel scandal?

Looks like VW will be accelerating their implementation of electric cars. Great news in my book. http://www.volkswagenag.com/content/vwcorp/info_center/en/news/2015/10/VW_Effizienz.html

    $79 lease

Looks like a 2015 SEL is $129/month under a similar deal. A total steal, especially with a VW loyalty credit. You get the $2500 CA rebate towards the $4500 you spend during leasing (plus tax). That's like less than $100 a month for three years to drive an SEL.

There was no where to park, there were Leafs everywhere!

What does 115 hp in EV feel like compared to 2015 1.8L Golf?

We have a 2010 2.5L Golf, and the e-Golf is both more pleasant and zippier. There's no down shifting, there's no delay. The e-Golf is a pleasure to drive in a city sporty manner and feels faster than the 2.5L Golf. More range may come in 2018. One of the VW VPs suggested a 50% range increase...

Chargepoint IOS app not displaying combos

Barry, They're gone from my app as well. They can be useful at times, but I find them to be the worst of stations in the Bay Area - cords tangled on the ground, difficulty getting my card to be accepted, no notification when charging complete or interrupted.

Frustrating experience dealing with VW Car-Net

A few weeks ago my car net experience improved dramatically. It updates smoothly with accurate data and delayed charging started working. Also a May 2015 build. It seemed to me they must have significantly improved the backend because the iPhone app itself was not updated.

    Replacement battery

Just a point of clarification, VW didn't work with LG Chem on the battery, it was Panasonic: https://media.vw.com/model/pack/92/

Lease a 2015 eGolf SEL now or wait for the 2016 eGolf SEL?

Everything I've seen says the $7500 rebate is property of the lease company because they own the car and only the $2500 CA incentive goes to the leasee. I think that ad is a mistake. With $2500 instead of $7500, it comes out to $12145 over three years which is in line with what the 2015 e-Golf...

    NRG EVGo account statement spam

In my first month with them I've received 0 emails. That was after four attempts to activate my trial card that came with my the Golf. Very disappointing account management and online offerings.

Not to jinx it, but is Car-Net updating better for you?

A couple times since the weekend I noticed that the app on my iphone had accurate charge related data - a first since I got my e-Golf in August. When I was at WF charging with NRG last night it was up to the minute accurate and when hitting refresh it would actually poll the car for the current...

    eGolf no longer charges

I experienced something very similar the first weekend I had the car. While trying out the app, I set the max amps to 5. I could not get it to charge from the level 1 at home. It would act like it was charging for 10-30 seconds showing the pulsing green, the charger would click under the hood...

ChargePoint Home is now available to order

Where to charge is an interesting point. There's a private high school a block from me with two public charge point slots - free for the first two hours of level 2 charging. They're providing about 80% of my charge and it's been an opportunity to meet other ev drivers from the neighborhood. I...

ChargePoint Home is now available to order

This next year when we buy a house, I'll probably go with a CP. Largely because of the app quality and appearance of the charging unit.

CA - Green Driver State Incentives

It's also interesting you can get $1000 - $1500 for retiring a vehicle that didn't pass it's smog test. Reminds me of cash for clunkers.
