Is the real world range really 83 miles?

Brother257 (and others) - under those circumstances, what is your estimated range with a full charge?

Buyers of e-Golf. Did you pay MSRP full price?

Can you share the residual? (I'm sure most of us leasing are planning to not buy the car at the end, but it's always nice to know...)

    Questions for owners

Thank you to both answers, very helpful. The video review also points out that the Nav features are dated (low resolution screen, slow UI) http://www.myvwegolf.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=113 but that's not a deal-killer for me. The 3.7mi/kWh figure @ 70mph is better than I get in my Volt...

    CNet review of the e-Golf

Thank you. The one thing that was new to me was the "maximum power meter" which I understand to reflect that, as the battery gets lower, your maximum power draw is also lower. Am I correct in this interpretation? Do other EVs or EREVs have this "feature"?

    Questions for owners

I had a few specific questions for owners of e-Golfs. Please answer if you can, or feel free to ask more in this thread if you have questions. Can you start the air-conditioner from the key fob? Can you start the AC remotely from the car-net app? If so, how many seconds does it usually...

Had mine for 3 weeks now :)

My daily commute is about 26 miles, so that's a gimme (and, there are L2 blink chargers at work, if I ever need it). Once a week I have a 56mi round trip, which should be fine, but it's 85% freeway miles. Could I do it at 70mph and not lose my sanity? Every once in a while, I might go to the...

Had mine for 3 weeks now :)

Nice info, thank you - it sounds like the range you are getting is decent. Do you have a thought as to the actual range @ 70mph sustained? I live in San Diego and we often have light traffic and folks drive 70-75 here routinely.

My 2015 US Spec e-Golf SEL Premium

Super cool, congrats. Do you have any way to estimate high-speed freeway range? E.g. in my Chevy Volt, I figure I can do about 3 miles/kWH when going 70mph, but closer to 4 miles/kWH if I'm going 60. Is there any way to estimate that in your eGolf?

Please, give me the sales pitch!

One minute ago, I just got a VW eGolf-specific email. Perhaps VW was listening? Anyone else get it?

Please, give me the sales pitch!

I have no idea if these two facts are related, but... * About three months ago, I signed up on VW's "I'm interested in the eGolf" web page. Nothing. I signed up again a month ago just to be sure. Nothing. I got some *other* emails from VW (related to my other VW car) but no eGolf news...

Is the real world range really 83 miles?

I live in Southern California, a place with 65mph speed limits and occasional speeds that average 70-75mph. I'd really like to know the "Get on the freeway and drive 70mph" range of the eGolf, as that would be my personal "worst case" scenario. You'd think the Germans would be driving this...
