    Tire pressure and tire replacement

Assuming that the injured tire was not repairable, I too would have purchased just one OEM tire. 8K miles is not a lot of difference in tread between the single new versus the 3 older ones. The runflats MAY save you from using the goo that comes with the car, assuming that you have discovered...

    Buying a 2017 e-Golf, 1st EV, need advice!

Before you reset the "extended trip", take a look at the mi/kwh (higher the better), average speed, and distance traveled data. It will give you a clue as to the driving conditions and aggressiveness of the previous owner.

    2017 SEL vs 2019 SE

Besides price, condition, mileage, remaining warranty, etc., there is only ONE scenario that I can think of where the features of a 2019 SE outweigh a 2017 SEL, and that scenario is: The 2019 SE has the optional driver's assistance package (blind spot monitor and adaptive cruise control) while...

    Garage door opener?

Very easy solution to close this 6-year old thread. You can buy a auto dimming with Homelink mirror. Genuine VW part. Plenty of Youtube videos on how to install too. Give them a call to find out which one you need, depending on how your vehicle is equipped...

Is the 125mi battery worth trading for?

I've seen Sparklebeard's car. Can't answer about the screen protector, but for the mirror turn signals he installed aftermarket dynamic turn signals with a "smoked" tint. Easy to find on aliexpress.

How to disable automatic 3-blink turn signal?

A friend of mine used OBDEleven to change mine from default 3 blinks to 5 blinks.

    Battery fantasy

Zero chance. There are battery replacement services for the Nissan Leaf, and they only use the battery from wrecked ones.

    Help with Battery/Range Degradation

Why would I ever want to use an algorithm to PREDICT future battery life, when it would be far more accurate to actually MEASURE the battery's state of health via Leaf Spy, OBDEleven, etc.?

Rust on metal frame inside the dashboard

This is common for any maker. Another place you'll easily see this is in the seat frames, underneath the upholstery.

Swapping halogen headlight assembly for OEM HID assembly

For a 2015-2016 e-Golf, most definitely do NOT drop in LED or HID bulbs into a stock halogen housing. The halogen housings have a truly awful beam pattern, so most definitely replace the housings if you seek better lighting.

1st Time EV Owner - Questions

I've been driving EV's for 6 years, and rarely drive more than 25 miles/day. I've been using L1 charging the entire time, and taking advantage of time-of-use electricity plans. If you can avoid getting the floor mats, I would, and put the money toward the TuxMat, which has the best coverage...

    Build Thread: Performance e-Golf

I'm not aware of anybody using OBDEleven to improve performance of the car. I have heard that it's possible to adjust the power steering effort, but that's about it. You can use it to enable a few electrical tweaks though (using the remote to raise/lower windows, etc.).

Disappointing driving experience in 2019 e-Golf SE

Well the good news is that you can swap the wheels from the GSW, at least temporarily, for you to feel the difference 18 inches with less sidewall will make.

Disappointing driving experience in 2019 e-Golf SE

Regarding your 2016 GSW SEL, didn't that come with 18" wheels/tires? That will make a huge difference in handling/response compared to 16's with eco tires.

    Cheapest 2019 E-Golf SEL Ever?!

Mossy VW in Escondido, CA (San Diego area) has two SEL's (both pure white) for $24,395. https://www.mossyvolkswagen.com/new/Volkswagen/2019-Volkswagen-e-Golf-de5bef0c0a0e0adf1ea85fd3ed169a06.htm?utm_campaign=deeplink&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=cars.com If it's legit, RUN and get it. I do...

    Adding Fog Lights

The 2016 SEL has cruise control, but not the adaptive cruise control on later models. Check your front grille because there may be shutters that close the grille at higher speeds that would interfere with your fog light placement.

    Charging Door Won't Stay Closed

Google "golf mk7 fuel door motor" to see an image of how the flap/piston works and see if yours is worn at the edges. If you do need to replace it, here's how: https://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?9280639-DIY-Fuel-Door-Actuator-(fuel-flap-lock)-replacement

Does anyone else have this much trouble with the voice control?

This is one (of many) reasons the built-in navigation on the SEL models isn't worth very much compared to Android Auto or Apple Carplay. I find the voice control is decent for making phone calls though.
