Engine compartment cleaning

My 2018 e-Golf seems to collect far more sand and road grit than any other vehicle I've ever owned.

Is this your experience?

Does anyone have any suggestions or guidance on how to best / correctly clean the engine compartment on an e-Golf?

I use a vacuum cleaner to get the big items and a rag or paper towel moistened with water to finish the job.

I’ve had good results using a can of compressed air to blow out the gritty stuff, especially in tight corners. For anything stuck, I use a soft-bristled detailing brush. Just avoid anything too wet, these EVs are more sensitive to moisture in the wrong spots than your average gas car.
