possible to play video on discover pro ?

I have an E-golf 2015 SEL I have seen some people playing a videos mp4,avi though sd card in youtube "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVIJxW2zIew" but I have tried to do that but I couldn't ,every time i tried insert the sd card "no playable files" message is displayed.

In USA it's illegal for infotainment center to play any type of video file. That includes avi. files. Considered too big a distraction /temptation to the operator of the vehicle and endangering other peoples lives.
 
According to the brochure, only the 8" Discover Pro system on 2016 SEL's could play DVD's (I assume while the vehicle is stationary).

I doubt that 2015's had that feature. Don't know about the 2017's.
 
I’ll test my 2017 SEL DAP tomorrow

BTW my 2013 Toyota Sequoia plays DVDs in the front if stationary. The blueray in the back works when moving as you’d expect.
