It looks like you have your solution. I suspect you got this US e-Golf REALLY cheap, so these are minor expenses. Have fun!

I did get it cheap and will rely on the VW for service.
I see now that I wasn't clear with the opening post: that car is already in the country and I don't import it personally :)

Plan on getting it towed to Germany to get it fixed. Just saying... technicians in Poland won't have any training fixing e-golfs with recharging or Drive train issues. We are talking about different countries, not different states in the same country of USA.

Thanks for reminding me that Germany is a completely different country :)

E-Golfs are sold officially in Poland from 2015, let's not panic, alright?

I've been called many things, but being right often isn't one of them. I am sure that during my lease I will get back here often :)

Congrats on the car! You'll be fine for 240VAC. if you decide to retrofit the socket from a salvage car, see if you can get an auto-scan done of all modules prior to removing that part - having all the soft coding may or may not help with the retrofit.

Cars are like legos, chances are that the socket retrofit would work just fine if you swap or flash all the supporting modules.

A friend in Ukraine is asking for a US-spec e-Golf too, so I'd love to see updates on your adventures in Poland.

I get a lot of messages asking about an update on this thread.

We've sourced a charging cable but turned out the battery side for US e-Golfs uses Audi e-tron like connector. So no plug and play.

Another solution was a CCS conversion cable. Which are now available from at least two sources:

In the end with the range that my e-Golf has it's quite clearly a city car and I haven't had a real need for CSS charging. So I've dropped this by now.

I compared different cables with CCS combo 1 and CCS combo 2. The connectors on the wiring side do not differ in appearance. Maybe I'm not looking? Please explain.
