The cushion is nowhere near this much. In my experience charging the 35.8 kWh battery on my 2017, the "fuel gauge" encompasses around 34 kWh, which is about 95% of nominal capacity.

I seem to recall reading somewhere (maybe on this forum?) that the e-Golf actually recharges very slightly while coasting, although I don't remember how they were able to determine this.

I believe the EV-specific features are free for 3 years with new vehicles, but I'm not sure what the situation is for used car purchasers. You can also do this through the car's in-dash interface, in the e-manager. In my experience, it's 100% more reliable than trying to do anything remotely...

I know the wattage of the on-board charger is 7.2kW which means 30A at 240V but could it pull e.g. ~35A on a 208V circuit (assuming the EVSE is rated for it)? Or would it still be limited to 30A (and therefore ~6.2kW at 208V)?
