    Chrome Trim Recall

Just received a letter from VW re: "Service Action 34L9 - Gear Shift Cover Trim": covers showing signs of peeling will be replaced by the dealer at no cost until January 2027. What would you know - mine is actually doing this (noticed the other day). Glad VW is stepping up and deciding to...

Driving in B mode often can cause issues?

Hello and welcome to the forum. I see that you JUST JOINED ... sometimes it makes sense to pay attention to the date stamps in the discussions: this particular one has been ongoing since 2017 but the particular issue has been "settled" in 2019. Still, thanks for the reminder re: how the region...

USA Maintenance Supplement re: Brake Fluid Change -anyone else?

Just received a one page Maintenance Supplement to "All Model Year 2019 VW Gasoline Engine Vehicles" - it adds info about changing the brake fluid 3 years from the original in-service date then every 2 years after, regardless of mileage. I have not checked the Warranty and Maintenance booklet to...

Charging using stock EVSE ('charging cord') in hot weather - can it get too hot?

The TE one. It was replaced in October 2019 under warranty as the original one (also TE) came in faulty. Hard to say how many hours... I would say into low 100s now. Will keep an eye on it and talk to the service tech when I bring it for the 12 month / 10 k service (prepaid already, part of the...

Charging using stock EVSE ('charging cord') in hot weather - can it get too hot?

Update: something is certainly not right with the cord... After initially thinking it's the hot weather, I've been keeping it inside the house (rather than the trunk). So the ambient temp should no longer be an issue yet the cable is still not registering anything when plugged in. Trying to...

Charging using stock EVSE ('charging cord') in hot weather - can it get too hot?

Thanks for the tip re: max temp. I guess that would explain (hot and humid in MD).

Charging using stock EVSE ('charging cord') in hot weather - can it get too hot?

I have been using the stock EVSE (made by TE; not Delphi) to 'trickle' charge my 2019 eGolf. It has been working just fine. My standard 120V outlet is in full sun for about 1/2 day (from early morning to about noon) so the cable is exposed to some extreme temperatures, particularly now when...

    Cheapest 2019 E-Golf SEL Ever?!

There is one with 13,045 discount: https://www.antwerpenvw.com/volkswagen-pasadena-md.html?Model=e-Golf No idea whether this is buy or lease price only but it's worth checking out. This car has been on a lot for quite some time; I remember test driving it in September 2019. Decided to settle...

Does the 2019 use different wiper blades?

Highly unlikely. Got the following set to fit perfectly on both of my 2017 GTI and 2019 eGolf (BOSCH A863S (650/450mm / 26/18inches).

    Constant squealing noise while moving

It may be worth checking whether you have the dust shield rubbing on the rotor.

    2020 e-Golf cancelled

I also have no idea why this 'news' is suddenly making rounds around the interwebs (Autoblog, Jalopnik, etc). Like the report says, it has been announced in October of 2019. Strange...

    Electrical system failure: Stop!

It would be really, really nice if all the new users (Pargias, Dlmmdajgal, Poshnorris, spana123) who suddenly felt an urge to register and join the forum to only report about the error were kind enough to update their posts and told us exactly what the cause was and how the dealer addressed it...

it's spring 2020...where are the SEs??

There will be no 2020 e-Golfs in the US (the car is still being offered in other markets so the 'discontinuation is specific only to the US market). ID.3 is not coming to the US; we're waiting for the US-specific premiere of ID.4 (Cross). Not sure where the OP has been during the past few...

    Leasing 2019 SEL. Residual value?

Take the VW loan at the given rate in order to score the (highest possible) discount off of the MSRP then promptly refinance with your preferred bank/CU. Don't feel obligated to hold on to the VW loan for the prescribed amount of time (usually 3 - 6 months) before the loan officer told you so...

    Wireless CarPlay via Dongle

There is one user on vwvortex who has ordered CPLAY2AIR dongle for his GTI (https://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?9378837-Wireless-CarPlay-option). Unfortunately, the order has been delayed due to the virus outbreak.

    Charger Recognition

I always thought that when the indicator light next to the charging point is yellow, the car is actually not charging but indicating that the connection with the charger has been made. Are you sure you have not enabled the 'delayed' charging via the e-Manager? Try to un-check all the boxes and...

gps time set vs. manual time set

I have my time set to GPS and still, when the Daylight Saving Time ended, I had to 'un-check' the corresponding box in the "Time" menu for the correct time to be displayed.

L1 Charger not charging in Cold weather?

Absolutely NOT the case for me. I am (very rarely) plugging my L1 cable into an outdoor outlet that I am 100% is not on a separate circuit and the car is charging (very slowly but) just fine without any issues.
