Is it the end of the road for the E-golf ?

On the plus side, I did read somewhere that VW has added a new shift in e-Golf manufacturing to increase the supply.

    Departure time keeps changing

It didn't occur to me that the car didn't see that. Sometimes, even though I thought I knew better, I put too much faith in what car-net tells me. Thanks, Bob

    Departure time keeps changing

I have a departure time set. Every day at 7am. Months ago I noticed that once in a while the time would change. It would be 7:21 am one day. I'd set it back. This has gotten MUCH worse. It changes almost every day. A couple days ago it changed to 3pm! Does anyone else see this?

    Heat doesn't seem to work!

Thanks! That was the first thing I did, though. The manual says that the Auto button will set automatic temp, fan speed and air distribution. The manual says that A/C light indicates air conditioning. Unfortunately, that is all the manual says about those functions.

    Heat doesn't seem to work!

Thanks for your all of your comments. I called VW this morning and was able to bring it in. They applied the software updates and we'll see how it goes. It does seem to work! One question I have is right now the temp is in the 50's. When I hit the AUTO button, the AC light comes on. I have to...

    Heat doesn't seem to work!

This may end up being a very stupid question, but today temps were in the low 50's (I'm in NJ) and I expected the heat to come on and it definitely didn't. I turned the temp up all the way to HI. Nothing. When I hit the AUTO button, the AC light would come on! I hit it to turn it off. I've...

Has anybody else decided not to get an L2 charger for home?

A consideration I had was the health of the battery and general flexibility in using the car. According to VW, the battery will last longest if is between 40% and 60% charged. Since I generally don't drive more than 30 miles in a day, that works out fine. I have the schedule and departure times...

    Trip odometer?

I agree that it is poorly designed. It seems to me that there should be room on the display for both range and trip. The only way to get them on the same screen is to select the trip odometer, and then using the buttons on the steering wheel, select Range for the main part of the screen.

3 year free car-net for eGolf is a scam

My post above turns out to be incorrect. The car-net guy had it wrong. At least in the US, e-Golf owners get the full car-net service for the first 3 years. This information was apparently top-secret, even to VW, as owners on this forum reported getting letters from VW to buy car-net after the 6...

    Lease Cost Breakdown

I always wondered about that: On longer trips I do set Eco and Eco+ and it is RIGHT next to the power button. What happens if you accidently hit it while going 60mph? I've never had to guts to try it!

    new carnet web site...

The update notice does say that you can now lock car doors with the iPhone app, but only with the 2016 model e-Golf. On one hand, it is nice to see they are reading the app reviews and responding (the car lock function is mentioned a lot). On the other hand, though, it really shows their old...

    EZ Pass?

I put mine above and to the right of the rear view mirror. It works fine and is very much out of the way. By the way, I'm in NJ and there is a "green" ezpass that gives you 10% off. It isn't much but I got it. Then I found out it is even less than that: you only get the 10% off during non-peak...

    Siemens VC30GRYU Versicharge install question

I got my charger installed. I decided to just have it hang there and when I leave, unplug it and bring it inside. I'm not putting a screw in the top of the mounting bracket to make that easy. Works great! Faster than the level 2 at the VW dealer (6.6 kW vs 7.2, I guess). By the way, I don't...

    Electrical system failure: Stop!

Hi Michelle - any update? As you might guess, we are all waiting to hear the diagnosis, fix, excuses, etc. Thanks, Bob

    multiple departure times

A major redesign is good news. This app needs it. It is needlessly complex and unintuitive.

    Maximum range shown

I have seen in the 110 - 118 range, but I consider them phantom miles. When I go somewhere, those miles drop off faster than the "real" miles below 100.

    Max level for immediate charging

Oh, I guess I really didn't understand it. There is a separate "Maximum charge level". I didn't see that. Thanks, Bob

    Max level for immediate charging

Ah. I'm starting to understand this now. Okay, so if you want to charge to 90%, the idea is to use delayed charging to set the Minimum charge, but you have to be sure to unplug before the delayed charging starts. In other words you need to change the settings each day if you want to do this...

    Max level for immediate charging

I'm confused. First of all, what the heck is "minimum battery charge level"? On the web site, this is the explanation: When it is connected it won't fall below? When it is connected it will either be charging or not charging. The chances of it sitting there not charging and falling below...
