Charging Light turns red when connected to Wallbox

I recently installed a WallBox Pulsar Plus and - whenever I connect the charging cable to my 2020 eGolf - the charging light on the car goes red NOT charging at all. The WallBox stays blue saying it is waiting for a "car's charging request". I have NO scheduled charging times (neither in car nor in Wallbox app) setup. The three pin "granny" charger works perfect. Wonder if that has something to do with the Wallbox charging cable?
