The author correctly points out this move is because VW's lunch is being eaten by Hyundai and Kia. Value-conscious buyers certainly consider warranty when purchasing.

The Hyundai Ioniq's warranty is 5/60k standard, 10/100k drivetrain, and lifetime battery. So once again, VW is coming up way short and the talk of embracing EVs still seems to be nothing but lip service.
