How much efficiency would be lost by running extremely low tire pressures? For example, someone with legacy automotive skills, thinking all tires should have 32 psi. Is it possible the OP originally had his tire pressures low, and later on adjusted them correctly?

Do you check, when you plug in, that the top button isn't lit, as in this picture? That indicates a delayed charge isn't in effect, possibly from pushing that button. If the bottom button is never lit, even before plugging in, or directly pressing the button, there is no delayed charge...

I should have mentioned that when I scheduled the service online, the estimated charge was for the cabin filter only at $60. $280 was a big surprise. I plan to call other dealers to see what they charge, and possibly VW itself.

Which button is lit when you plug your charge cable in? If it's the upper button, as shown in the picture, the car should always charge to 100%. If the lower button, a timer schedule is in effect, and could limit maximum charge.

When it happened to me, I had been using the OEM EVSE that came with the car. It's plug's shell extends as a guard over the latch, preventing the simple screwdriver plunger manipulation described above. So, I made this tool*. It takes a bit of finessing to get around the guard, but it works...

I'd be curious about how many miles eGolfs have been accruing. I've only put 7.5k on mine in 10 months, with no noticeable capacity loss, and wouldn't expect any just yet. I'm sure others have gone a lot further... maybe a mileage vs. battery capacity thread? The annual/10k service may produce...
